Here’s Another Commissary Report

Seeing how my brothers and sisters in the media are having so much fun with the first Marion County Sheriff’s Commissary Fund report we put out, here is the one from June 25, 2011 to December 31, 2011.   What fun items can you find that should be going to cover the costs of inmate health care?

    Protecting who from what? Professional services, service agreements, legal fees, consultants, bike equipment (patrol where), badges, coins, car washes?

    Today there was a news story saying the Sheriff is going to start writing traffic tickets. I thought that duty was removed from him in the Consolidation ordinance. Now just who will he have to staff his “cash strapped” and “budget strained” sheriff traffic enforcement unit? -Jail Guards???
    Abdul already reported the Sheriff is being sued because his special deputies don’t have authority to make traffic stops, and that case is in the courts.

    Isn’t there a reason that jail guards don’t get the same training as police officers?

    Speedway is getting several $25k checks for “used Crown Vics” and we keep seeing all those new Sheriff Chargers around town…I’d like to know what’s up with that!
    What is Mr. Grandy getting $1000/mo. for? Is he related to Democrat Byron “Reggie” Grandy of the Sheriff’s Dept???
    $6500 for bikes from BGI???? What is he doing with that many bikes? Riding them down the halls of the jail? Why does he need a Sheriff bike anyway? His people have no need for them! They certainly don’t ride them to Sheriff’s sales or serve court process. That really will be interesting.
    ***$200 to buy water from Kroger!!!!!*** Why can’t he turn on the tap like the rest of us? Is he buying imported spring water? I want justification.
    I saw one $55 late fee #9755 to PNC Bank. I thought the State Board of Accounts stated that there is NO EXCUSE for governments to pay late fees. The Sheriff should pay that from his own pocket for incompetence.
