Weekend Getaway
Since most of you are probably more interested the Super Bowl than local issues, I’m taking a weekend hiatus from blogging.
I’m also behind on my college teaching responsibilities so I’ll need the weekend to catch up.
I’ll probably throw something back up late Sunday or Monday morning. Stay dry this weekend.
And may the best team win the Super Bowl.

The BEST team? As if there's any doubt?
February 7th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
Since the BEST team isn't playing, who cares?
Who's the BEST team?
Why, the United States Marine Corps!

OK Aires. But, uh, the Marines aren't playing in this game.
And the Marines gave us our incumbent Mayor. 'Nuff said.
I'm with ya when you're right, Abdul, and you're right about the blue people. Avatar….much ado about nuthin.
Jackie Cissel. Hilarious. As much of a giggle as Aaron. Is this the best the GOP can do?

Ms. Cissell ran and lost in 1999 as a GOP At-Large candidate. What I find peculiar is this Republican newly-rediscovered “affirmative-action” program. Seemingly only African-Americans are being considered for a replacement for Kent Smith. Odd. Whatever happened to the alleged color-blind stance of the modern GOP ???

Wilson again you have no idea of what you are talking about.
The GOP choices for the at-large will be diverse
What’s it to you anyway? You don’t have a vote.

Without the marines, TA, you wouldn't have the freedom to be the condescending piece of shit you are. Maybe you should take some time out and thank them.

Rico, have you ever considered Christian chastity of language? You sound like a foul-mouthed guttersnipe!
February 8th, 2010 at 4:11 am
Considering the GOP Caucus will be choosing a Councilor At-Large to represent ALL citizens in Marion County, I definitely have an interest in the process and its result.
For that matter, Ernie, are you a precinct committeeman yourself or just a kibitzer and hanger-on? If so, for how long? I've been a precinct committeeperson for 24 years myself.

Guttersnipe? Wow! That's impressive from a dumpster-diver, Wilson.
And you know not how I 'sound' if you only read my words.

Cheer up Rico. Who peed in your cornflakes anyway? It must be sad to wlak through life as sour as you are.
I've known and talked often with Ms. Cissell. She's unique.
The at-large councilpersons run with the Mayor. I know of only one occasion since Unigov was enacted, that the party which won the mayor's office, did not control all four at-large seats: Joanne Sanders.
That means whomever the GOP chooses to succeed Mr. Smith, will likely fare only as well as Ballard in 2011.
Yikes.

Ernie is a PC. He's part of a contest to see who will be the last Republican to give up on Mayor Ballard. There are only about 10 Republicans left in the county supporting Ballard. Abdul and Ernie are the two favorites to win the contest.

Show up at the caucas and see if you get to cast a vote. Ill be there and will be doing
more than just hanging on

You are wrong and right Paul. I'm a ward chair and I will continue to support all of our candidates including you.
