CARSON SKIPS OUT ON EASTSIDE FORUM
Apparently someone in the Andre Carson camp isn’t too keen on sharing the stage tonight with Republican Jon Elrod and Libertarian Sean Shepard. Carson was supposed to appear tonight at the Community Heights Association neighborhood forum at Arlington Heights Baptist Church on East 16th street, but dropped out at the last minute. My sources also say his campaign has been calling the media telling them they never agreed to show up in the first place. However, they offered to send former Deputy Mayor Melina Kennedy in Carson’s place.
Someone is playing fast and loose with the truth because I’ve known about this forum for weeks and even sent my producer to cover it tonight. This is not a good way to conduct a political campaign when you’ve got less than 30 days to go until the election. Carson needs to call someone on the carpet for this bad judgment call.

Well if IndyErnie tried to answer a question I think Andre would probably threaten him. If a woman tried to ask Andre a question he would treat them like a sex object.
Gee Andre, I guess not facing the public IS something you learned from Julia.

What is Andre afraid of????

I can not find the right church to google info about them ?

Funny that Mike Bowman comments - he also did one of those “phoney debates” for Andy Horning in 2004. They advertised a “debate” even though Julia Carson had never agreed to attend…

Funny - Julia Carson people said in a letter distributed at a different event later on that she could not attend that later event due to a conflict - that was scheduled to take place the NEXT Evening.
Always a convenient excuse.
Is there a web site for the church Andre was at tonight ?
“Campaign manager Alex Zwerdling said Carson had agreed in December ” was this before or after he announced he was running ? Just curious.
And this other event could not see fit to excuse Andre early to help him attend both events ?

Andre doesn’t want to answer hard questions. After spazzing out last night over softball question tossed underhanded to him from three feet he went bananas.
Is this is a prelude of things to come?
Its obvious, Carson can’t handle the heat. Simply put, Andre Carson isn’t ready for prime time.

Andre couldn’t debate a third grader let alone a formidable opponent for a congressional seat. Didn’t he finish 89th out of 90 at ILEA after Granny got him a job with the state excise police?

The only reason for not attending a debate would be a belief it would be detrimental to your campaign.
But perhaps not showing up for work is one of those things learned from hanging around grandma.

I believe the event Wilson references was a forum and all material associated with it indicated that Julia had been invited, not that she was confirmed. Two candidates showed up at that “meet the candidates” forum (if memory serves). Mr. Bowman indicated at the time that he had been trying for weeks to even get a response from Carson.
And Bowman is also correct that a subsequent event at a downtown church had photocopied handouts indicating the Honorable Ms. Carson could not attend because of a conflict, but the excuse given wasn’t until the following evening. The media ignored this of course.

Come on guys, you know Andre will only show up at ’scripted’ events between now and the election. As much as I hate to say it, it’s probably good advice from his people. He is not a prime time guy when it comes to off the cuff speaking. He reminds me of Doc Bowen’s son when he ran against Evan for Secretary of State. Is he qualified for the seat? Heck NO! If only the voters would spend the time and effort to do the proper research on who would be the best candidate for their district. If they don’t here’s the perfect way for them to make their decision.
“Consult some well-meaning fool (there is always one around) and ask his advice. Then vote the other way. This enables you to be a good citizen (if such is your wish) without spending the enormous amount of time on it that truly intelligent exercise of franchise requires.”
(quoted from “Time Enough for Love” by Robert Heinlein. “) Heck if you play your cards right you might get a free meal, beer or in Abdul’s case a Martini while you listen to the WMF enlighten you with his political philosophy.

This smacks of crap and gives “Send my seed” new meaning huh?

Andre Carson is an embarassment of a Democratic candidate. He’s such a lightweight he sends surrogates into the community to do his work, and face his opponents, while he’s attending champaign cocktail parties in DC. Let the people eat their cake.
I really feel that Andre Carson hates Democracy. He has been selected by party insiders not once but twice in his runs for office. He didn’t want to fairly compete against others applying for the Excise Police so Grammy’s friends gave him (and his cousin) a job. And now, when the voters of the 7th are asking ‘Who is Andre Carson, and can he stand on his own feet?’, he sends Grammy’s friends in his place.
Andre Carson is a boy living in the shadow of his grandmother’s funeral pyre.

Interesting that Andre choose to meet with just 10 people while there were 50+ people at the other event. And there was no debate - no rebuttle of the other persons statements. Just Q and A with the audience.
February 13th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Andre will never make it to a “forum” or a debate unless it is with an elementary school audience.

I’v met all the candidates. I am convinced that Woody Myers is our person to represent us in Washington. I was pleased to hear and read about his support of public school education. Finally, someone who will step up to the plate for our kids.

Hold on wait a minute J.Ladd. This is the same knuckle head that wanted all people and person to qurantine for having contacted HIV. A Doctor who has been mia from Indianapolis for over twenty years and now he wants to make a difference. It sounds as though he wants to represent the healtcare industry as their man for continue rise in healthcare cost. This man doesn’t know anything about the seventh congressional district, I’ll take him on a ride and visit some of our roughest neighborhoods like Brightwood, Haugville, Brick city on the citys south side. I’m willing to bet that his tale will cure up in his kulo, and run away.
