SOMETHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
I’ve just finished reading Peterson Plan III, incumbent Mayor Bart Peterson’s plan for the next four years. Having followed the Mayor closely for the past year, there isn’t much new in it. Many of the themes he’s talked about: property taxes, neighborhood building and economic development are nothing new. The Mayor did hit a salient point when talking about education and high school dropouts. I have advocated giving the Mayor control of the schools in the past and make a new argument for it in my monthly column in this week’s upcoming edition of the Indianapolis Business Journal. I wish the Mayor would have focused on this earlier. By addressing the schools, he could have totally changed the dynamic of this race because schools tie into economic development, crime and property taxes and he would not be in the situation he is today.

Abdul - I really don’t think the Mayor wants IPS. Some might view it as “too far gone”. Though it’s not like Dr. White isn’t trying. Dress code (or as some call it “school uniforms”) is a step in the proper direction. The work of Mr. Jeffrey White out at Marshall - my ($DEITY), if we could clone Mr. White we should. I pray he has the progress out there that State DoE won’t be forced to close Marshall due to inadequate AYP under NCLB.

Why hire someone to enact Act III, who didn’t complete Act I or Act II?
That’s a lot like throwing good money after bad, isn’t it?

Why do you have to knock Star Trek 3? The only reason it got a remotely bad rap is because it was following the Wrath of Khan (far and away the best film of the set.) 3 was a lot better than 4 or 5, IMHO.
Although in this case, I don’t think the city can handle a 4 or 5…

We taxpayers and citizens can’t take anymore of Petersons plans. We now need the Marine who has arrived just in time to take back the city. He’ll solve the crime problem.

Peteron has his problems, but at least he has a plan which is a basis for discussion.
It would be nice to see a comprehensive Ballard plan. He needs to recognize that crime fighting is only one of many issues facing the city.

If Bart’s “Plan” is so good, why go negative? Methinks hizzoner is behind in the polls! Way behind!

I have a plan. Does that qualify me for Mayor? I don’t think so.

Bart doesn’t care about police and firefighters. He never has. Look at his record (see links below). He would rather layoff cops and firefighters than cut a Deputy Mayor.

Well folks its official! Two-term Democrat Mayor Bart Peterson is officially behind Republican Greg Ballard in the polls. Our proof? Bart has just aired the first of what we expect to be a flurry of negative ads against Col. Greg Ballard attacking Greg’s supposed lack of experience on things Bart holds in high regard (raising taxes 19 tax times, letting crime get out of control and of course protecting political friends like Monroe Gray).
How about we let Bart Peterson and his Bartstitutes know that we don’t want another one of his “plans” and we won’t tolerate negative attacks on someone just because they happen to be telling the truth. Call 327-3601 (his office) every hour on the hour and tell him to stop his negative attacks.

Why, Tommy G?
Negativity from a “scorned” Mayor Peterson showcases one of his most longstanding job “skills”. Voters ought to see this side of him. And, if they “buy” into it, they deserve the 19 tax increases scheduled for the next four years.
