SEVENTH CIRCUIT DISMISSES STATEHOUSE PRAYER LAWSUIT
The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has dismissed a lawsuit challenging prayers delivered in the Indiana General Assembly. The Court did not rule on the substance of the case, but instead procedural matters. It said the plaintiffs in the case did not have standing to sue because they could not point to a significant legislative expenditure that supported the prayers. The suit was brought back in 2005 and U.S. District judge David Hamilton issued an injunction against the delivering of sectarian prayers. House Speaker Pat Bauer says prayer will resume when lawmakers come back November 20 for Organization Day.
If you think about it, with all the work lawmakers are going to have to do dealing with property taxes in the next session, a little divine intervention just might be what’s needed to tackle the problem.

Maybe now they can get some work done, Lord knows there wasn’t any Divine Intervention going on in this last session……

As Ben Frnaklin put it so well, “If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can arise without his aid?” This state needs all the help it can get, where better to get it than from Above?

Bart’s definition of experience = 19 tax increase in 4 years.

It took some 30+ pages to rule that the plaintiffs don’t have grounds? And, another 25+ for a dissenting opinion? I thought I was verbose.
The plaintiffs ought to regroup and return to court taking a different tack. Serve everybody right.

Well folks its official! Two-term Democrat Mayor Bart Peterson is officially behind Republican Greg Ballard in the polls. Our proof? Bart has just aired the first of what we expect to be a flurry of negative ads against Col. Greg Ballard attacking Greg’s supposed lack of experience on things Bart holds in high regard (raising taxes 19 tax times, letting crime get out of control and of course protecting political friends like Monroe Gray).
How about we let Bart Peterson and his Bartstitutes know that we don’t want another one of his “plans” and we won’t tolerate negative attacks on someone just because they happen to be telling the truth. Call 327-3601 (his office) every hour on the hour and tell him to stop his negative attacks.

Bart. Negative campaigning? Just pitiful.
