Still Thinking About It

Republican State Senator Jim Merritt of Indianapolis says he’s still thinking about running for Mayor. He says he’ll make up his mind soon. He says crime is an important issue and thinks the new Metropolitan Police department should be under the control of the Mayor, not the Sheriff. And despite Mayor Bart Peterson’s $2.5 million war chest, Merritt says he thinks the race is winnable.

  • One Who Knows
Businessman Bob Parker, Republican has been asked to run for mayor. He ran in 1999, 2003 for the Republican nominations but lost to Sue Ann Gilroy and Greg Jordan. It seems the attorneys in the Party want to protect their legal contracts with the city so most of them are riding the fence period. Bob Parker can give Bart and his boyz a run for their money.

At this point a pig in lipstick would get my vote over Bart! If Merritt decides to run, I look forward to hearing what he has to say, something of substance is more than what we are getting now.
  • Burgoo
Merritt will be a substantial candidate, if he decides to do it.

People who are "thinking about" running don't come on your show Abdul. People who are running do.

Plus, we all know Sen. Merritt. He's never thought about a topic very long in his whole life. He just doesn't have the ability to think that hard!
