What the f—?!

When I came to Indianapolis a little over two years ago, I figured it’s a nice town and it should be easy to manage. That was two years ago. In the past week, I’ve seen the coroner’s office searched for the possibility of corruption and official misconduct. I’ve seen a group of people try to put a bar in a government building and one of their key players is arrested for DUI. The murder rate is so high that spread out there has been a killing every 2-3 days. The budget is a mess! And now I hear a prominent local official could be on the receiving end of law enforcement’s reach. What the f—, people! What the f—-!

When did things just get out of control! When did Indianapolis turn into Detroit, Oakland, Washington D.C? People are dying in the streets, local officials are being investigated for corruption. Your taxes are going through the roof! I truly wonder if anybody gets it? Maybe I just see this stuff up too close and too frequently. Or maybe, I just see things as they are.

I’m interested in your thoughts.

People ARE fed up, but they don't know what to do, where to even begin, etc., because politics and money rule. You can get far without money and it seems people are too easily bought around here. I'm at a point I want to vote out every incumbent because it doesn't matter whether they are Democrat or Republican, nearly everyone in office has lost touch with reality, what real people -- middle and lower classes -- are dealing with day in and day out. It's simply more important to go after people in the other political party so they can "win" at all costs. The majority of Indiana residents are the losers because those in powerful positions are too selfish to take the tough road of standing up for what's right for the people, not for the selected few.

I moved here about 6 years ago and I agree. I am looking around and starting wonder what am I doing here? I am a professional person who can easily find something else. Obviously my tax dollars are not being used properly and I am not getting any representation.

If I don't see some SERIOUS changes in the upcoming election I will probably think of getting out - while I can still do it alive. WHY would I choose to live in a city that is not interested in its citizens?

Politically speaking, the mayor, while often thought of as invincible, is far from it. I wonder if Frank Anderson could have been seriously challenged this year based on the exponential crime rate increase. It's too bad Republicans picked a subpar candidate, though.

I really think someone like Ike Randolph could mount a tough challenge in 2007 to a mayor that is now vulnerable in so many areas.

I sure hope you are right. I think that Ike has a lot going for him, and if things go good for Republicans in the Prosecutor's and the 7th Congressional races, 2007 will look a whole lot different. It will be a like a snowball rolling down a hill.
