At least a public service is being performed by allowing folks who like to talk about budgets the opportunity to scan for details so that they have a chance of knowing of which they speak. I wonder, given that TIF districts having been abused all over Indiana, why the Legislature does not get off their well padded duffs and fix the problem. Specifically, what would this budget look like were it obtaining the revenues diverted to TIF? And, just to show folks that it is not purely an Indianapolis scam, the enclosed, “Delaware County

Chris Hiatt mentioned that there is currently enough money available in
the Morrison TIF (Tax Incremental Financing) District to retire the TIF. The Morrison TIF is from the earlier
variety of TIF Districts and has ne pre-determined expiration date.

Scot Alexander noted that the Park One TIF was originally designed as an
Office Park and not an Industrial Park.
This is why a Rail Spur and other infrastructure improvements are now
required to service Brevini and Twoson Tool and other Industrial users that
might utilize the site.

It was also noted that we believe that $10 million has been spent to
date to move Twoson Tool to Park One.
This was paid for with money taken from the Morrison TIF to pay to move
a business which was a large source of property tax revenue OUT of that TIF
District.”
