Mr. Saturday Night, Part Two

Here’s my morning report on Indiana Black Expo’s second Saturday night.  It was uneventful.  A few minor incidents and to date, less than a dozen or so arrests.  IMPD did a great job.  Indiana Black Expo did a great job.  The 10-point Coalition did an awesome job.

There was strict curfew enforcement and the cops were not playing.  I have never been so pleased to write about nothing happening.

We’ve come a long way since 2010.

    What did Black Expo do to help with safety? Did they pay for all of the hundreds of riot police that were called in?

    …and what did the 10-point coalition do? Did they point fingers at the hoochies and tell them how shameful it was do appear in public like that? Did they tell the curfew violators they should be home reading books instead of loitering downtown?

    Attend Black Expo, Indianapolis?????

    -No, thanks!  -I’d rather hang out in Detroit’s 48205 area.  It is safer!!!!

    Does Black Expo cover the costs of all the extra work that is needed to be done to keep Indy safe?  Or do the taxpayers eat that cost?

    After the shooting last Friday at the CO movie my guess is that everyone is not wanting to be the next big news story.  And it does not help that Chicago, on any given weekend over the last two years, has 10 dead and 50 wounded.

    So be thankful.  It can be worst.

    1.  How many police officers are we paying to maintain the peace this year for IBE?

    2.  How many police officers did we pay to maintain the peace when the FFA was in town earlier this year?
