Indy To Bid for 2018 Super Bowl

Sources close to the City of Indianapolis are telling Indy Politics to not be shocked if Mayor Greg Ballard announces another Super Bowl bid for 2018.

The Mayor, Governor Mitch Daniels and a number of other officials are expected to announce tomorrow the economic impact of Super Bowl 46 on the city.  Those numbers, compiled by an independent analysis, are being described as very strong.

So strong in fact, that the city is expected to announce it will pursue another Super Bowl.  Sources say the city will pursue Super Bowl 52 in 2018.

Although there have been no prior analyses, earlier estimations have been Super Bowl 46 would have generated anywhere between $125 million to $400 million for the city.

One might think the statewide water shortage emergency would be more relevant than some crackpipe dream of more free money to pay for the Pigskin Temple to the God of Dollars.

The IBJ wrote previously that the last Super Bowl cost taxPAYERS over $800,000 loss!

I don’t think we should allow another Super Bowl until Ballard & Straub pay us back.

I’ve seen an alternate reality where the break-point in our history was back in 1920, when pro football teams had to share a playing field with a circus that had camped there the evening before.  Elephant feces were used by opposing linemen to distract the others.    In this reality, people used common sense and left the fledgling NFL right where it belonged, with pachyderm shit.   In 2012, entertainment in sports is restricted to non professional endeavors, which has been a blessing to everyone, specifically taxpayers who subsidize an alleged capitalistic venture with the force of law, a/k/a communism.

It is interesting to see folks develop myths and then believe in them.
