First Pence TV Ad Hits the Airwaves

  • cynical sam

“Stylin’” in a bomber jacket is so appropos for a Repub.  We love to bomb.  The only hope I had for Obama was his promise to end the wars. Ooopps.  Should have invested more in NAR and Ruger.

I suppose if Pence is elected we can expect serious drone overflights of Indiana to begin in January. What joy.

  • Pascal

Karen is the best thing that ever happened for Mike.

  • Nick

Guess what. Mike Pence has his wife’s vote.  Good for him.

Now let’s talk about fiscal discipline, jobs growth, and religious fanaticism on social issues.

  • Iamdickwhitman

His poll numbers with women must be disastrous if they are airing this ad this early.

  • M Theory

Pence is going to have to show that he’s a better choice than Rupert.  And while he was good on the bailout issue in Congress, I’m not convinced he’s the best choice.

  • Patriotpaul

The ad was developed for identity politics for emotional effect. A family man who loves family. A Hoosier who loves Hoosiers.  Throw in some apple pie and Andy Griffith, then reach for the Kleenex.

  • cynical sam

Well, since logic, reason and critical thought left politics decades ago, emotion is all that is left.

  • Dave

Pascal’s right about Mrs. Pence & what’s wrong with her telling their story?  It’s an introduction.  John Gregg’s introductory ad was likewise neighborly & well done.

Sam’s rightly concerned about overflight BS & the need to legislatively poke out any eyes in the sky.  If Mike Pence won’t pick up this issue on behalf of Hoosiers, Mike Delph probably would.

  • Rico

I’d bet your wrong. And simply because he’s not afraid to proclaim his faith does not make him a fanatic!!

  • Scooter

     Yes, to a point.

How does a guy who is Catholic, suddenly change religions, then get elected to the US House?

I don’t think it was because he couldn’t pronounce ‘transubstantiation’…  did NOT being Catholic make him more palatable to the voters, or was it something else that ‘moved’ him away from the Original Christian Church?

He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do to convince me.

  • Nick

What does he think about the separation of church and state?

  • Rico

The fact of the matter is his faith DOES matter. Mike Pence is a Christian. So you don’t have to worry about him killing, converting, or subjugating us–as you would were he a Muslim.

He also believes in our Constitution, which means his goal is not to rob you of your liberty. (Please save the bullshit Hitler references about his position on gay marriage or the Patriot Act.) He, first and foremost, loves this country and insists on defending it. That’s refreshing in this day and age.

  • Crazyteapartyperson

So why do Greg Fettig and Monica Boyer think he’s a RINO?

  • M Theory

Sam…you are hands down my favorite commenter on this forum.

Have you seen the 12-year old Canadian girl give her speech on the banksters and taxes?

I promise it will be one of the best six minutes of your life on You Tube.

The walls are coming down now.  For real.  I can’t wait for Greece to give the middle finger and default (just like Iceland did!)

Show me where it says “…  separation of church and state…” in the Constitution & I’ll buy you a beer.

Strange and wonderful thing, that US Constitution…. it acknowledges a Creator, yet allows for those that do, or do not believe, the same rights.

Those that are elected to represent the people need to remember that the Constitution is the ‘moral compass’ while they serve.  Their religion is for their own compass, and that separation needs to be maintained.

  • Scooter

”… loves this country and insists on defending it…”.

Interesting.  How many viewing this board have had parents, brothers & sisters, ourselves, or our children serve in the US Armed Forces… especially since the Services became an AVF?

Has Mike Pence ever worn the uniform?  Has his father, his children?

I hear the statement “… defend America…” so damn often.  Almost as often as I hear, “Send in the Marines!”… but I hear that from those that have NEVER worn the uniform. Never put their ass on the line to defend the Constitution.

How many current members of the US House and Senate & seated State Governors have their own children in the active component of the US Armed Forces right now?  How many?  I’m not saying that’s a ‘ticket to ride’, but it sure is an interesting factoid when you hear these D.C. hawks start talking about ‘defend America’.

Those ‘never served’ politicians need to remember that the military is charged with achieving our national goals every time the politicians fail.

  • cynical sam

Well, gee, thanks for the complement, M.

After enjoying the video, it does beg two questions:

    a. How is it possible that a 12 year old gets it, and can explain it in 6 minutes while a PHd Econoslob doesn’t and can’t.

    b.  When are the US election laws going to be changed to allow for the minimum age to hold office reduced to 10 years old.

I would have no problem voting for a twelve year old since they have not had time to be corrupted by the system.  The Bank of Canada is mirrored in the US by the Bank of North Dakota.  Check it out sometime.  I have asked various Indiana politicians why we do not have a Bank of Indiana and they all look away nervously (the swine). Oh, well.  Check out below for a good laugh.

Seems I remember that the Wehrmacht had “Gott mit Uns” embalzoned on their belt buckles.  Most Germans were Catholic, Lutheran and other Christian religions.  Shall we discuss the Crusades. I would venture Christians are responsible for more deaths than Muslims, if for no other reason than they have had and additional 750 years to murder. Inquisition anyone?

Constitution? Has your boy ever voted FOR a bailout, repeal Glass-Stegal, NDAA, Patriot Act, etc, etc. Please.  My question is if he has ever read the Constitution.

  • cynical sam

Because they are thoughtful and insightful?

  • Bob Lewis

Isn’t Fettig the crazy that called Abdul “boy”

Im still surprised that Mourdock would allow these two crazies to be his spokes people.Their racist views are well known with in the Tea Party.

  • Rico

Okay, Scooter, we get it! You were in the military. Thank you for your service. But one doesn’t have to wear the uniform to support our troops, just as one doesn’t have to be a police officer to believe our laws should be enforced.

Think John Kerry. Some of our least patriotic politicians wore the uniform. Pence is a better friend to the military than the vast majority of them.

  • M Theory

She’s a star child, I suspect.  We have loads of human relatives everywhere.

The bad guys are running out of places to hide since they no longer have safety in their secrecy.

2012 is going to be a fine year, my cynical friend.

  • Pascal

The Tea Party with which I am familiar with is quite aware that the main racist in Indiana is a Muslim liar gracing Congress.  Not to hijack a thread….but we don’t need a useless congressman, racist Muslim, liar, in Congress representing Hoosier values.

  • Nick

Is he running for Governor or a Evangelical Pope?

  • Scooter

    Damn…. I’m not sure now.

Whenever Pence speaks he intoduces himself as Christian then Conservative…. in that order.

  • Scooter

I was thinking honorable men… even Mr (Fred) Rodgers wore the uniform… not some character that can only qualify as a civilian REMF when he says; send in the troops!

  • Scooter

    BINGO!

  • Rico

Well, then do what you can to help Carlos beat him!!

  • Scooter

Personally, after the way Jesse Vetura did a bang-up job in Minnesota, maybe some new non-standard tie-dye ties are due in the Statehouse.

    It could happen.

  • Dave

Perhaps he’s just “misunderstood” & had no use for the $1M that Breitbart offered him…

  • Dave

Back to Sam’s concern about these govern-MENTALS & what they’re doing stateside & homedrone, see for yourself:  /www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzrS0BVJynM

  • Monica Boyer

Monica Boyer fully endorses Mike Pence.
