Well, with the fact that in 90 days, IMPD & the tax-paying public won't have Straub to kick around anymore...

Make this new one worthwhile, Mayor.

If any of what's alleged about this man turns out to be true, it will likewise reflect on any councilor who made such an endorsement, politically and against the interests of those they're sworn to protect.

Politics prevails now, Turk. A different kind of politics, granted, but it's still ugly.

I posted the last two segments to highlight the group National Action Network which the Rev. Stephen J. Clay is a member.

How in the world does a police officer get a fair shake when charges are brought upon him or her, and they have to stand in front of the Merit Board, which is their judge and jury for discipline for IMPD,and get a fair shake with folks like Rev. Clay.
I'm not IMPD, just a citizen who sees the making of a Kangaroo Court within the IMPD Merit Board. The Board was not designed to have community activist, it was designed to give a fair and umbiased view their actions!
Here is my question, posters? will IMPD members get a fair analysis of the facts with the Rev. Clay on the Board, or will politics prevail?

With the Trayvon Martin story, Al Sharpton may have found his key
back into the limelight – or at least, he’s gambling what remains of
his reputation on it as though he has. Now, Sharpton has involved his
National Action Network in the controversy, and has threatened the city
of Sandford, Florida, with increased civil disobedience if Martin’s
shooter, George Zimmerman, isn’t arrested soon. This could include
boycotts and other economic “sanctions.” The Boston Herald reports:
“I will speak about how the National Action Network will
move to the next level if Zimmerman isn’t arrested,” Sharpton said, who
founded the organization. He added that it was the Martin family and
lawyers who first asked him to get involved and nationalize this
story.[...]

“Whether he (Zimmerman) had a swollen or broken nose, neither one
means he had to take a 9 mm and kill someone,” he said. “It’s not about
saying Zimmerman is innocent or guilty, this is about whether there was
probable cause to arrest him.”

He criticized the way authorities have released information about the
case and said they are setting a harmful precedent, he said.
Sharpton first made the warning in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel.
Further details on this disobedience could come as soon as tomorrow.
With Zimmerman’s story increasingly being called into question, Sharpton
may well get his wish, though hopefully any arrest that does come will
come not because of economic blackmail, but rather because of
information uncovered by the grand jury.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An effort is under way to get Indiana lawmakers to re-examine Indiana's self-defense laws.
Members
of the Indiana chapter of the National Action Network said Thursday
they're starting a campaign to make sure 17-year-old Trayvon Martin's
death was not in vain. Martin is the Florida teen who died after being
shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer.
The group is seeking answers surrounding the shooting as well as a review of state policy.
The
group believes George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin, should face
charges. Florida officials haven’t charged him, saying he was within the
law because he said he was acting in self defense.
Indiana has a law that protects people if they hurt or kill someone to stop them from committing a felony.
“We
must ensure that the state of Indiana, that there is no opportunity for
an aggressor to wrap himself or herself around the law that lacks
clarity and provides even a measure of opportunity for a murderer to go
free,” said Stephen J. Clay, president of the Indiana chapter of the
National Action Network.
The group announced plans for a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. April 15 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Indianapolis.
