the whole p.s.o. is a waste of money. just be straight on the facts. 3 times in 2 or 3 months is once every 30 days. (by the way I know both of his driver’s) and yes 2 60 grand a year salaries to drive a gu around is too much. I don’t think his safety is that much in peril. Most folks wouldn’t know him if he stood next to them.

I’m sure you and other readers of the IB would like to see internet-backed lies and damnded lies of this individual named Straub..but the question was posed to Abdul. However, in that IB is his blog, he can refuse to answer yes or no.

But I’ll tell you TA..its a slippery slope Abdul has posited with the title of this thread.

Abdul, are you going to mount a substantive defense of Straub’s reappointment? The “it really doesn’t matter” mentality is falling on deaf ears. If anything it comes across as a confession that his record is full of failures and thus, he can’t stand on it.

That’s fine if you like the Chief, but can you please provide a candid defense of him? His actions have led to many of the problems the department is now experiencing. His lack of leadership and police experience have led to embarassment after embarassment in full view of the public.

I mean, come on, this is the guy that talked about the importance of hiring applicants with a 4 year degree and he has an associate’s degree from a correspondence school…

I’ve seen him three separate times at the downtown Marsh in a Tahoe or Suburban. Over the last 2-3 months. My LEO friends told me his assigned driver is a plainclothes sergeant.

I don’t care what his rank is–it’s a waste of money.
