This Is It!!!

This is the day we have been waiting for. Election Day!  No more commercials.  No more spin.  No more candidates.  Now the people get to have their say.

I’ll be updating updating throughout the day on Twitter and Facebook.  Follow or friend  me for the latest.  And watch us tonight, starting at 6 p.m. on WRTV Channel 6 for the latest Election Coverage.  We will have a complete wrap up later.

Also, feel free to follow my fellow political bloggers for some perspective as well.

The polls are open until 6 p.m. If you don’t vote, you forfeit your right to complain.

  • Sarcastic

LOL “No more commercials. No more spin. No more candidates. Now the people get to have their say.”  Far from it.  We’ll just not see it in television ads.  It’ll just be more of the same with a few new people sprinkled in here or there.  There’s a reason why the profession is one of the two oldest in the world where the customer always gets screwed,  left with no money, wishing they had drank more before that fateful act.  Let’s face it, as long as there are people on this planet, there will be prostitutes and politicians.

  • Attention: Poll Watchers

Precinct Judges:  Under no circumstances can an individual that voted prior to election day cast a ballot on election day.

This is a change this year in Election law, so some people may not know this, but it is the law and there are NO exceptions.

My polling place was pretty tough.  Workers were well trained, insisted on proper proof, no nonsense.  Ballot was not premarked with straight ticket oval filled in.

    Are you sure??

  • NoLongerVoting

“If you don’t vote, you forfeit your right to complain.”  I used to subscribe to this way of thinking.  As I’ve grown considerably older, I no longer find it holds merit.  Voting is a privilege.  It is a privilege you choose to exercise if you are properly qualified and registered.  As long as someone is a law abiding citizen, obligated to pay taxes, they have a right to complain regardless of their choice of not voting.  Now, if someone was an illegal immigrant, convict, etc. where they were not paying taxes and unable to vote, then their complaints would hold little weight.

I agree with Sarcastic here…. I no longer vote because, all in all, it all averages out.  Whether I vote or not, I’ll still get screwed.  There are always ups and downs… but in the end, it all averages out.  One politician screws one thing up, another one comes along and fixes it… at the same time they screws something else up, another comes after and fixes their screw up so on and so forth.  It’s a big circle that never ends.  It’s kind of like living in the movie “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” except, when you drop all that money, those folks catching it below isn’t any crowd, it’s a crowd of vulchers/politicians.

I, for one, am glad you don’t vote.  That kind of apathy leads to Carsons in office.

  • NoLongerVoting

Actually, the Carson’s are WHY I don’t vote any more.  No matter how I voted, they still got in office.  My vote didn’t matter.

Why would anyone with intelligence (or who isn’t on the take) care to follow Jim Shella?

He’s a hack for the establishment, no more no less.

  • Southsider

Channel 6 at 6:00 will do better than channel 8 and Shella, cause Abdul will be on channel 6!

  • Scooter

OK.  Here’s a better way of saying it.

“The people had their chance to have their say…. if they gave a damn.”

    Better?

I planned on voting a dozen times today. Unfortunately I only managed eleven times. Actually it’s pretty sad that the estimates are from 17-30% of the public voted today. Having done my part with voting in multiple locations I gracefull accept my right to complain for the next 4 years. If someone didn’t vote, don’t complain. Liberal as I am, split ticket. Ballard for mayor, Ryan vaughn out of the majority, hopefully.

  • Steved608

    Unfortunately those words ring true.

  • Steved608

    Abdul,
Thank goodness you won’t have to complain about Kennedy the next four years. I was concerned for your stress level.

  • jlg

Thank you Indianapolis voters, thank you, thank you, and thank you. Now here is to a good night sleep.

See you in the morning Think Again!!!

  • Abdul

She would have been better for business.

I am sure you can find someone else to occupy your time over.
Will send any rumors I hear your way. Don’t want to see you pan handling again.
