Melina’s Math

I’ve got some work to do this morning so I am going to direct you my guest column in today’s Indianapolis Star.  I write about Melina Kennedy’s plan to take $150 million from the Citizens deal and spend it elsewhere.

Of  course I don’t think it’s a good idea, big shocker there.  But my argument is that it would be one thing if she were creating a fund for future road projects and maintenance, which would make sense. Her plan, while probably well-intended, only creates more problems than it solves.

You can read it here.

Sounds more like Obama style patronage politics. In short, payback for union support.

More of the same-old, same-old. Rinse, repeat.

Had Indiana taken just $1 million on 9/11/01 and bought physical gold, it would now be worth $ 528 million.  Had they bought physical silver it would now be worth $ 849 million.  But no, the pension funds and gubmint investments are always in paper. Paper ALWAYS reverts to its intrinsic value: $0. However, paper is easily manipulated. Gotta love those Dems/Reps.

To paraphrase Mark Twain: Gubmint is the only institution that can add ink to paper and have it worth less than when they started.

Maybe Melina’s math is so bad because she’s a product of IPS.

Indiana can still re-legalize marijuana and tax it.  I believe the lobbyists said it would create $4 billion in additional revenue every year.  That would shore up the pensions.

Im all for that..If you want the people to win vote for Bill Levin

If Melina is a true Democrat, she wants this money to create a slush fund for her party’s officials and supporters.  It’s quid (the $) pro quo (votes).

I see advertising pictures on the IndyStar of Kennedy next to officers in uniform with a car in the background. I thought using taxpayor assetts for campaign purposes was a no-no?

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/181217-house-dems-introduce-bill-to-eliminate-debt-ceiling  Where Melina gets her ideas…..?  And, why isn’t our brainless Congressman all over this bill?
