What’s Wrong With These Pictures?

Although it was a violent weekend here in Indianapolis, what I find most disturbing is the following pattern.  The first three men were all murder victims. The final below is that of Joshua Jude.  He’s accused of shooting two people in the 3300 block of Downey Avenue. You tell me what’s wrong with these pictures.  By the way, Blacks make up about 28 percent of the population, but are 57 percent of the murder victims.

It is a problem, especially for those who live near them.  The rest of us may not be as effected but it does make the community less whole.

the real issue is that as an outsider I can not really help.  I can be supportive of those within the community but I am still an outsider.  Thus the solutions need to come from those who live near these “problem children”.

I would love to know what percentage of murder victims are also career criminals.

From my extremely scientific viewing of “The First 48″, I perceive that percentage to be very high.

  • It’s me again.

Gosh let me see in the US 48% of all murder victims are White and 47% are Black so that couldn’t be it….Could it be that 11,154 are male and only 3,103 are female….are we not killing off enough women? No that would not be it…..let’s see….
MOST murders are not Felony type Murders (you know rape, burglary, drus etc.) most are about Love and arguments people have with each other….was this a love triangle?  Doubt it….
Let’s see handguns account for less then 50% of the murders in the us so that probably not it….

Is the focus of your question about who is doing the killing?
OH I KNOW the death penalty is expensive and in most cases unsuccessful in Indiana so we need to SPEED up the process…streamline it a bit and put in an express lane for really nasty people….Was I right?

Is it that the picture that happened to be available of the third victim — not the alleged killer, if he is in the fourth picture, and the third picture is of a victim — apparently shows him wearing an orange jumpsuit?  I’m not sure that that tells me enough that I can draw a coherent conclusion or lesson from it, but it is a little disturbing.

I would hazard a guess is that all are black and that the black on black murder rate is staggering when considered as a percentage of the population. As someone above stated, we can pray for them but the change has to come from those near the source

The problem is that they all had mugshots.

Guess the 10 point coalition didn’t do them any good.  You really expect their neighborhood from which they came would be somehow self-correcting?  Guess that failure is working out for you too?

    Quick, someone invite Al Sharpton.

  • pascal

Just what we need, one more POS.

Anyone who has been paying attention for the last 20 years knows that the black on black violence and murder rate is outrageous.  We can could have discussions for weeks on end as to the cause and ways of improving the stats.  I don’t know and I am not sure if the experts are aware of the reasons or the corrections needed.

I am truly tired of the race baiters making excuse after excuse for these vermin.  Life has always presented challenges and you either step up and do what’s right, or end up a thug.  I am sick unto death of being called racist when I call a spade a spade.  These criminals are products of a broken down ‘society’ which has been destroyed by two things:  Their own negligence, and the LBJ “giveaways” that made cradle to grave government assistance a way of life.  You make a person work for something it has meaning.  You give it to them and it has no worth. It’s not whitey’s fault and pointing out the facts do not make one ‘racist’.

Where is the Baptist Ministers Alliance

  • Melyssa

What’s wrong?   Their eyes say everything.

Where is Reverend Clay and the Baptist Ministers Alliance?

Is the answer that all of these people don’t know how to behave? I understand shooting someone isn’t usually the preferred method of dispute resolution. But what did those who were murdered do to make somebody angry enough to kill them? Musta been something real bad.

    Huhhh?

Bad moustaches! All four have bad moustaches (although just one is beardless).

Each child must have a way to see the value of life.  Unfortunately, for many of the reasons mentioned above, the experiences they have in their very early years only reinforces the notion that life holds little in the way of value.  Entitlements vs earnings.  Misguided role models.  Parentless upbringing.  Culture that glamourizes free sex, drugs, and thug like music and hero worship.  Little self-respect.  Leaders that openly flaunt the social norms.  etc. etc.  Many young people today don’t stand a chance.  The adults are too busy looking to capitalize on all the above.  I am 68 years old and I could fall into the trap that we have placed before them.  In the end, you could easily say……”who give a sh%%”.  Sad

Let me guess—none of them grew up with their father (I use the term in its broadest meaning) at home.

Here’s what I think when I look into the eyes of the young men pictured here.  The color isn’t as important as Melyssa’s point about looking at their eyes.

Remember the young woman on the face of Time who had her nose and ears mutilated by Muslim extremists?  I’m not trying to pick on Islam.  I’m trying to make an overall point.

Does that seem irreasonable to you?  Basically uncivil?  Not an acceptable societal standard of justice to have your nose and ears cut off ?

If so, are there any overall societal standards we’re willing to stand up for- regardless of our race, religion, sex, custom, etc.?  If so, what would they be?

Would they include women can’t be mutilated?  Incarcerated perhaps, but not mutilated.  Would these standards include parents are responsible for their children?  Really responsible- like reprimands, fines, and incarceration if necessary on the part of the parent.

If we held parents responsible for the actions of their children, don’t you think that would incentivize the return of the standard of two parents?  If we returned to two-parent homes instead of a parent and a check, do you think we’d have less murder, general mayhem, and thievery- whether black, white, brown, or purple?

Maybe I’m dead wrong.  But ask yourself this- Do these eyes collectively look like young men that came from homes that taught them right from wrong, based on societal standards of right and wrong?

    What do you think?

  • Scooter

    What do I think?

I think Johnson’s Great Society is concluding it’s work that even a couple centuries of slavery couldn’t accomplish…..

Must not be very expert then.  Do the stats truly reflect the reality?  You could not have a fruitful discussion at all unless the parties to it were willing to face reality.  As you well know, there are all sorts of whores in the prejudice game but the posting is showing judgement or questioning AFTER the fact, not beforehand.
For 20 years, to use your fomulation, no judgements have been made because language confuses catagories.  To make a judgement about Black Criminals is generally a POST Judice not a prejudice.  Most sentient beings are fairly competent on postjudice and are not needing any “experts”.
