The white baby comment wasn't in good taste, however, I do believe the majority of the fanatical anti-choicers do indeed have a preference of who they really don't want to have abortions. Fanatical anti-choicers often tend to be older, white, less educated, from the south, uber religious, etc. The same people who have problems with their less-educated children getting knocked up. If they just would've prayed harder….

And before I get lit up for my comments (not necessarily you Chad, you seem like an okay guy, worthy of conversation), please read my qualifiers. I try not to say “all people” or any absolutes like that. I've lived quite a few lives, many travels, enough to give honest opinions.

Yes, the GWB comment was about 50% tongue-in-cheek, but 50% of me actually feels that way. That mofo has blood on his hands and should be tried for war crimes along with a lot of his staff. My statement is true if a person voted for him just because he is “pro life”. How pro life do they feel now? I shouldn't even ask that, because I don't think they'd feel too bad considering who we were killing.

The alternative is worse because abortions will happen with or without the law. There are all sorts of issues there- safety, medical, suicides, etc.

Why would non-white babies not be on my radar?

If an unborn child is in fact a child (which I presuppose), it is not an issue of oppression but rather murder. Freedom does not permit one to own slaves, gas Jews, or kill unborn children (if they are children). None of these are rights, they are crimes. So when Hitler in Germany wanted to gas a Jew it became everyone's business and had I lived there during that time, my business. A women (or a man) has no more right to kill her/his child and cry oppression than a slave owner or Hitler did with their oppressions. Derek, your worldview isn't about prohibiting oppression (I assume you believe that you are not oppressive), rather it shifts the oppression from the women to the child. If you see a women being raped, do you oppress the rapist or the women? I think you can understand that oppression is not applicable to the rapist. A women is not killing her own body during an abortion; she is killing a distinct person that is completely dependent on her motherly love and commitment to non-oppressive actions. And you are correct in saying laws will never change with the caveat being, as long as an unborn child is redefined as something other than human.

…and what about GWB? I will assume your ranting is rhetorical unless you were peering over my shoulder during those elections. GWB is not a pro-lifer and yes I too find it odd that so many conservative have been duped for so many years. At least liberals and libertarians have principles (they will slaughter unborn all day long and fight for it with pride). The conservative way seems to acknowledge the life of the unborn but then turn around and legislate that if a baby is going to be killed, you need to kill it in this manner. Again, if one believes that the unborn child is a human, then abortion is a crime.

As an ultra conservative protestant (and that evil white color too) I am sometimes in the minority on issues of faith. Faith does not provide a means for judging the validity of something. Therefore, faith cannot arrive at truth. George H. Smith put forth such an argument in his book Atheism: The Case Against God. It was however a straw man argument. Faith IS NOT a means of acquiring knowledge and anyone who uses faith as such must first establish the deficiency in logic and reason to arrive at the truth in question.
