I don't care which Democrat wins, I just hope the Democrats sweep the mayor's office _and_ the council. Regional taxes will likely be less likely to pass if the money is going to go from Republican/Conservative suburban counties to a Socialist People's Republic.

What REALLY happened in the Peterson Administration has a whole lot to do with the leading (for now Melina) candidate's viability. You think Ballard's Boys aren't going to bring up all of that? Well then it will just be a walk in the park then I am sooooo sorry for even implying Bart has anything to do with the next election. My bad. :rollseyes:

I understand your frustration, Ernie. If I'd actively supported Ballard from the get-go like you did, I'd be livid right now. He has squandered a solid opportunity, and he won't get the chance back.

Facts cannot be ignored. The baseline D vote in this county last fall was 58-60%. In an off-year it'll drop proportionately, but it will still be above 55%. If the Dems can nominate a candidate with little bloodshed, they'll win...any of the mentioned crowd can beat Ballard.

The real interesting race will be for council control. Republicans have succeeded in recruiting some attractive candidates. It'll be razor-thin, whoever wins that battle.

Iknownothing: you just don't get it. Your rants against the Peterson money machine are instructive, but in local politics, it's ancient history.

Bart is, uh, working at Lilly's now. No coattails, whether that's good or bad.

You're either a complete idiot, or you haven't been paying attention. Evan Bayh was a moderate Democrat (at best) as our governor and sold his soul and became more liberal when he went national. He's only moving to the right now because of the election next year. What facts do you really check? Maybe you should check the dosage on your meds.
