Abdul is sticking with his half baked theory of a bill of attainder in spite of its lack (woeful lack in my view) of corruption of blood. ACORN has long been a criminal enterprise and our President's long association with it and Rev. Wright should lead honest folk to some conclusions that would be apparent to a 3rd grader. At least former President Carter had some experience as a governor of a state and Ms. Palin had been a Mayor with real responsibilities. Congress is attempting to cover something up with these votes in my view and it is not hard to see whose cya they are cya ing.

Abdul; no valid argument can be made that denying ACORN funding is a bill of attainder. A bill of attainder is a declaration of crimminality made by the legislature. This is not even close to that. Even our internment of Japanese-Americans in WWII wasn't a bill of attainder and that was a lot closer to one than this. Did you miss that day at SLU or were you still high from the break?

The law was written by a conservative Republican. Why does the GOP hate the troops? Carson refused to vote for this unpatriotic bill!

The congressional legislation intended to defund ACORN, passed with broad bipartisan support, is written so broadly that it applies to "any organization" that has been charged with breaking federal or state election laws, lobbying disclosure laws, campaign finance laws or filing fraudulent paperwork with any federal or state agency. It also applies to any of the employees, contractors or other folks affiliated with a group charged with any of those things.

In other words, the bill could plausibly defund the entire military-industrial complex. Whoops.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) picked up on the legislative overreach and asked the Project on Government Oversight (POGO) to sift through its database to find which contractors might be caught in the ACORN net.

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman both popped up quickly, with 20 fraud cases between them, and the longer list is a Who's Who of weapons manufacturers and defense contractors.
