Casting Call

I’m doing the morning show from the Indiana State Fairgrounds today and then I have some wedding things to work on shortly afterwards.  So if there is a post today, it won’t be until later.

In addition, with the wedding coming up, I’m soliciting some guest posts from different members of the community on issues ranging from health care, to education reform to city finances.

I’ve also asked my Democratic, Republican and Libertarian friends to all contribute. So don’t be surprised if you see an occasional guest post between now and my wedding day, a few weeks from today.

And if you’re up for making a contribution feel free to click on the “Submit a Story” link.  The criteria is pretty simple.  It must be between 250-300 words, interesting and relevant.  Please, save the conspiracies theories for another blog. You may also want to include a small bio about yourself.  I only edit for style and clarity, not content.  Indiana Barrister gets about  8,000 visits per week so you are guaranteed an audience.

Happy writing.

Congratulations on your wedding, Abdul. I hope all goes well.

Sorry that you don't want any conspiracy theories. I could spin some doozies for you! heh heh

  • pogden297

I'm pretty sure that any theory Abdul doesn't share is a “conspiracy theory.” Sorry, Abdul, Lew set me up.

Abdul, I would like for Paul Ogden to contribute. If you are going to ask Republicans to contribute, you should hear from the reformers as well as the mainliners.

  • Indiana_Barrister

Thanks, but Paul has a blog. I'm sure he doesn't need mine to get his opinion out.

Abdul, So that means you will not accept guest submissions from anyone who already has a blog? Or is that rule only for Paul Ogden?

  • Indiana_Barrister

    Paul,

You may find this surprising, but I prefer you keep talking.

  • Indiana_Barrister

That rule applies to Paul, Gary, Spangle, Masson, Easter, Thomas, et al. If you have a blog, you have a forum. Why would I want to give someone space here when they already have it. All the people I have approached are not in the media/blog business. See, everyone gets treated equally.

Yes, Abdul, you do rock. Thanks for clarifying. I don't recall that you excluded bloggers in your original request for submissions.

In that case, I would like both “Think Again” and “Shorebreak” to write a column while you are away with your bride.

  • Shorebreak

Thanks for the endorsement Melyssa :)

You probably already know this, but I'm the guy who can't turn on the History Channel without shaking his head and saying to himself “most of this material is either contrary too or a distortion of what the public record actually reveals”.

I'm the guy who watches Jim Lehrer and can't help but wonder why he was invited to join a small cadre of individuals who share the policy tables with folks like Bill Clinton, and GHW Bush, and Kenneth Lay.

And I'm the guy who watches FOX News with the understanding that Murdoch is one of the largest financial backers of Hillary Clinton's political campaigns. Fair and balanced? If so, come see me. I've got some great bridges for sale in your neighborhood.

Conspiracies? Quite probably. But theories? Absolutely not. If your brain isn't already fried on American Idol, Prozac, network news, or Ritalin, you might be a viable candidate for individual thought. Maybe I'll draft a submission for Abdul – If he doesn't like it I'll send it your way.

And I'd love to see something by TA – we often disagree but he's got some great info and a keen perspective.

    Tow words for you Abdul.

    Prenuptial Agreement

  • Think Again

Why would someone in love want a prenup? I don't get it.

Ted Kennedy death watch: 20 days. I wish no one ill health, but believe it or not, I won't cry. Massachusetts surely has more talent that's ready to shine. Like their governor, who's helped oversee one of the better new state health insurance programs in America.

    Timely, huh?

  • Think Again

And as for the posting endorsement, it's very kind, Melyssa, but no thanks. I get enough folks taking potshots as a minor-league poster.

My kids are all in college. I have enough gray hair.

  • Taxpayer 834512

What a wimp. My hair's about white. I second Melyssa's nominations: TA & SB.

  • Think Again

Well, you're very kind, but there's another issue, Taxpayer: anonymity. There's a reason I can't tell you my name is Mitch Daniels.

  • varangianguard

Ho-ho-ho. TA rules the snarkiest comment of the early hours of the morning today.

See what a little caffeine can do?

  • Kevin Hood

Ha, TA you are more than welcome to submit a post anonymously.

  • Think Again

It's wasn't caffeine, Varan. It was Nectar of the Gods. (Bloodies) Golf outing. Woo-hoo!
