Dear TA, Puzzled & Varan: Like some-o-yours, certain posts could be considered topical reset buttons. Dave is a zookeeper whose computer & phones are unattended while he pressure washes our cages- you can well imagine the need for regular maintenance.

Maybe she is putting her family first. I am a Mom and it is our natural instinct to take care of our cubs. I think we would all agree that her family has been through the wringer. I am glad to see her priorities are right for now. How can she go around and talk family values and not live it. She has a young family and a new grandson to help raise. Politics and raising money for an ungrateful party can come later. She has plenty of years left in her life to serve her country.

Amen, Varan

Extensive use of those volumes, doesn't impress.

(I thought it was just me, but Dave types many words, and says nothing) (Kinda appropriate it's in an essay about Sarah Palin, the Queen of Salad Talk)

Once again....politicians are liars. Once we can understand and agree upon this simple axiom, moving-on will be a bit simpler.

Palin is certainly better looking than most politicians. Clearly, 'looks' are important. I've heard and read - more than I can count - "How good" Barry looks.

Dave: thanks for trying. Just one more question please:

Are you the same Dave that calls Abdul's show sometimes in the morning?

Dear TA: OK, here's an expanded version. Being lobbied on the basis of dislike gets my attention & not always in ways that I infer are desired. O'Carter is an expression of concern, similar to that which I heard someone else describe by way of sitcom theme song, "Welcome Back Carter." Robert McNamara was part of JFK's (a free market President) "smarter & therefore holier than thou" but woefully disengaged, elite detachment of losing at war planners (The Tragedy and Lessons of Vietnam); in which McNamara acknowledges the failure of that mindset or setback. While he embodies that which is the very possibility of America; the President seems to be driven by a contempt for the imperfection of that which is our history, in blinding contrast to a messianic misperception that he is the solution, as evidenced by his tyrannical pursuit of socialism (hence missing the point qua ideal of that which is America). Charter of negative rights refers to the President's own words in describing the Constitution; not in its apparent form, but in the way one might also attempt to describe negative or abstract space around a tree rather than its positive & obvious form; the purpose being to minimize or depreciate rather than acknowledge its purpose & existence. The Constitution is not an abstract. Abdul's right, people vote for people they like or with whom they could imagine socializing but we can likely agree that's not a qualifier for good policy making. Lastly, don't take these comments to be an endorsement of big government candidates from either of the two commonly used names for the one & same party.

I watched Palin's news conference on CNN, and it was even more babble than usual. I mean, all I got was that she was resigning as Governor and whining about those nasty, persistent ethics investigations. I could not even tell if she is getting out of politics altogether or just lowering her profile so as to give her political enemies (including a pile of Alaska Republicans) less to shoot at.

I have seen Hoosier city council members make more coherent speeches, let alone from someone who poses as a national figure. Her 15 minutes of fame are up... I hope.
