All depends on how you define making money? Some folks think the Pacers have never made money even though they were bought for, what, $15,000,000.00 and are now worth $300 Millions?

In the interest of transparency what was the name of the lobbyist for ISTA who apparently did not know what he/she was talking about?

Why tell the truth when a lie will do? There are no bigger liars in Indiana than those connected with their brand of so called education. Graduation rates being only the latest huge lie which they got away with for at least 40 years. I don’t think blaming parents for instructional failure is going to fly much longer either.

Only the tip of the iceberg.

I don’t think Hoosier media has staff that understands the issues, numbers, or magnitude of the problem facing our states underfunded insurance/pensions or the dire condition of governments insurance funds that are supposed to protect Hoosiers.

Expect one day of very superficial coverage since they don’t even know what questions to ask.

The feds get involved under ERISA (the employee retirement income security act) which regulates some insurance plans. ISTA’s problems have been with its long-term disability plan which would fall under ERISA.

Wow–wonder if there will be any open minded postings on this topic —-build the gallows then have the trial. ISTA is not a governmental unit it is not subject to same accounting requirements that a governmental unit is subject to nor is its board of directors even in the same position as a board of a bank. So where the FBI investigation would be coming from other than individual misconduct involving transaction—not understood.

How would the lobbyist know that?! The FBI doesn’t go around telling when or if there is an investigation, and ISTA lobbyists would be the last people they’d give information to. This was the same thing that the Wilson Education Center and Tremco officials told school superintendents when the State Board of Accounts confirmed to me that they would audit the Rossville School District for failing to comply with bidding laws for a $700,000 overpriced roof job. History has proven that there was indeed an audit and more recently the Attorney General issued an official opinion declaring the no-bid scheme to be illegal.

I sure hope the ISTA educrats don’t have a false sense of security. That outfit should be investigated from top to bottom. It’s never about the children and real education with them; it’s more about enriching themselves at the expense of worn-out taxpayers!
