Thanks (Think Again) I know. Hence I said. I just think that the Deputy Mayor is such an embarrasment. Obviosly selected to insure the status quo. No intelligence-no threat.

Jerry, you're my hero. Careful, tho...Abduil books the Deputy Mayor often on his show.

At which times, I run for my gibberish-to-English dictionary.

As far as I am concerned, Mr. Shella's reputation is destroyed. He might as well pack his bags and move to North Korea.

Shella was on the show this morning. He lied and said he didn't call the taxpayers who gathered at the state house last week nutcases or whack jobs. I called him a liar on the air. It was fun.

Time to boycott the Colts, Pacers and Convention Center Events. Does Bill Polian strike you as being particularly intelligent.
He could be our next Deputy Mayor of Neighborhoods.

Polian states that the 'appropriate people' are elected officials. Yet, the CIB are not elected officials.
-
What's striking is that these frak-sticks do not believe that the taxpayers are 'appropriate'.
-
I don't believe that an inbred hillbilly would have given such a sweetheart deal as the so-called 'educated' dimbulbs on the CIB did.
-
The CIB of the Oil Can era clearly did not have the best interests of Indy and the taxpayers at heart -- hence the deal that the Colts received. I don't see much difference with the current crop of reprobates.
-
I don't see how taxpayer funding of the Stadium or Fieldhouse advances our "peace, safety, and well-being."
-
Indeed, I cannot find anything in our Indiana Constitution that authorizes ANY branch of government to engage in the 'economic' activities that have brought us to this point.
-
Our Constitution is NOT like that of Illinois. Our Constitution contains language that EXPLICITLY LIMITS the authority of government to that which is ALLOWED in the Constitution.
-
"No law shall be passed, the taking effect of which shall be made to depend upon any authority, except as provided in this Constitution." -- Art 1 Sec 25 (Bill of Rights)
-
No Constitutional Authority = No Law (or rule, regulation, ordinance, etc.)
-
Of course, there are those who believe that lawyers, and lawyers alone, are divinely inspired, and somehow find a different meaning than the plain language used. A lawyer would have no ethical problem scheming and conniving to try and find a way around such limiting language.
-
If lawyer 'A' cannot do this, then he goes to lawyer 'B', who happens to be wearing a black robe, and press 'B' to come up with the interpretation of 'A'.
-
This is how we get 'case law'. Case law is not legislative law. It is not 'black letter law'. It is judicial fiat.
-
-
My one simple question is this: Where is the authority for government to tax the People for the benefit of private concerns (Colts, Pacers, etc.) EXPRESSLY granted in our Indiana Constitution?

Dealing arms out of one hand and taking notes with the other, Abdul has been known to practice journalism or not depending on "opinion". But, he's still the best we've got on most issues to get both sides aired.

Let me say this. Abdul, I am happy you asked hard-hitting questions and have started to see the reality of what real journalism is about. That is exactly what we ask you to do. I want the best out of you and although I am a critic, I am also encouraging you.
