I am afraid still where we started. If there is movement it is toward the nasty side. I predict a plethra of more critical, nasty commercials to inundate the airwaves over the course of the next 30 days. Honestly how any one of us will come out of this respecting whomever is elected will be beyond me. American elections are so murderous as to insult the criminal minds of the worse convicts in history.

Obama, by a nose. No, it made little or no difference in the trends.
Next? Who knows? But Sarah remains wildly popular with the base, and if she can somehow energize them beyond all belief, this thing ain’t over.
Never mind that she criticizes Obama for his associations (Ayres, Rev. Wright…), all the while she has her own Rev. Wright controversy swirling around her: the minister who “laid hands” on her a year or so ago, has a scandalous reputation worldwide. And her husband associated with/belonged to a political party that advocated Alaska’s complete independence from the USA…and Sarah addressed their convention once, and wished them success twice.
So, hypocracy is alive and well, but the far left and far right don’t seem to care…they still love their candidates.
McCain looked like a grumpy old man. Which was sad.

Obviously McCain hit a home run last night. He was truly presidential. He was not “grumpy”. He demonstrated a command of the facts. The winds have shifted again to Palin/McCain. Also, please remember, unfortunately this is still a nation of bigots. So don’t believe the polls, McCAin is probably ahead. What people do in private is much more different than what they tell pollsters on the phone.

I don’t like either option. But, McCain is certainly on redux. HOW many times can you bring up the same points, and focus on your history as a politician. I mean, how did we get where we are right now? 8 years of Bush politics…..

After the total disaster that has been the Bush administration for the last eight years, I can not for the life of me imagine anyone voting Republican this year. Even Mitch Daniels, who has not been a terrible governor, is tainted by the fact that as OMB director and Bush stooge he estimated the total cost of the Iraq War would only be $60,000,000,000. We have got to start voting against incumbents on every level when things are going wrong. (I am a Dem but I voted for Ballard just for that reason.)

Will Barack Obama show us an original copy of his birth certificate to settle this issue today?
Barack Obama and DNC asked Berg to “put off discovery until Judge Surrick ruled on the Motion to Dismiss.” DNC Steps in to Silence Lawsuit over Obama Birth Certificate the man suing Sen. Barack Obama, Democratic National Committee for proof of Obama’s American citizenship is outraged his party – rather than providing the birth certificate – would step in to silence him by filing a Motion to dismiss his lawsuit. A prominent Pennsylvania Democrat attorney Philip J. Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court two months ago claiming Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen and therefore not eligible to be president. Today, John LaVelle, attorney for Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee filed a Motion for Protective Order, asking Judge R. Barclay Surrick to issue an order staying discovery until after he decides on the Motion to Dismiss filed by the defendants. Berg challenged Obama publicly, simply produce authorized proof of citizenship, and he’ll drop the suit.

Anyone else notice Obama’s incessant blinking?
I would like to see both candidates publicly respond to the issues such as past associations and allow their record and past history to be challenged.
Especially, Obama’s globe-trotting visits and discussions with foreign governments.
The best predictor of future performance, is past performance.

If either one of them had stayed in Washington during the gestation of the passed bailout bill, confessed to the camera of their own worst 2-3 Senate spending sins, and then read earmark-by-earmark and said, “But, this must stop NOW.”, THAT guy would get some votes. The vultures of both parties taking advantage of that situation make it tough not to go Libertarian or just oust incumbents.

Is Barack Obama a citizen of Kenya, Indonesia or United States of America?
It appears mainstream media has shielded and protected Barack Obama throughout his entire campaign for president. Hillary Clinton raised the issues of his relationships with terrorists Ayers and others, but no one was listening, she dropped the isues.
Now we have a question regarding whether Obama’s mother gave birth to him in Kenya, registered the birth in Hawaii, and declared him an Indonesian citizen when he entered public school. Later, Obama changed his name and applied for a U.S. passport when he re-entered the U.S. The copy of a certificate of birth on his website has been proven by experts to be a forgery. Missing from the copy is the original seal of the Hawaiian Registrar. The year of birth is blackened. Why hasn’t the DNC or Obama answered this lawsuit?

Abdul jumps on anyone bringing up Obama’s associations with Ayers, Wright, etc. He also likes to compare Obama to Abraham Lincoln. Do you actually think, if he has the opportunity, he will throw anything but softball questions at Obama? Obama, the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate, is the self-proclaimed conservative Abdul’s hero. Imagine that.

For that matter, who the hell cares about McCain’s birth certificate.
One was dropped in Hawaii and the other was dropped in Panama.
Hawaii’s a state last time I looked, Panama’s not.
Do you suppose Obama just showed his Green Card to get a Social Security number?

BTW, our economy is on the verge of total collapse which seem to me a wee bit more important than birth certificates right now.

Jerry: I agree with you totally.
Gov. Palin visited that church at least four times over the last 5-8 years. The minster laying-on hands was known as a hater of the Jewish people. And much more. If you’re a governor, or running for governor, you have to know with whom you’re sharing a platform, and be prepared to answer questions.
So, whether it’s your first time, or your 100th time with a particular person: it still doesn’t make it right. Gov. Pain, if she had a shred of decency, would denounce the minister’s actions.
But she won’t.
She should also denounce the views of the political party which she addressed once, wrote to twice, and to which her husband belonged for a period of time. A party that openly advocates Alaska as a separate nation.
It’s really pretty simple. She could step up and denounce their tactics. It is, after all, the same action Obama has taken against his former reverend and Dr. Ayres. You can denounce a person’s bad behavior, without a Napalm in the Morning scortched-earth statement.
I don’t hate her. I hope to God she’s out in front of as many audiences as possible until Nov. 4. She’s shoting herself in the foot on an hourly basis. Give her all the rope she needs. Clearly, the Republican bigwigs think their ticket is in trouble. Palin and McCain are appearing together today, in order to boost their collective morale, serving up red meat to far-right audiences. Twenty-seven days out from an election.
Not exactly smart national political moves.

Sarah Palin should’ve denounced the errant minister with whom she shared a nutso platform. She didn’t.
She should tell us she does not side with her husband’s belief that Alaska should be ab le to become its own nation. But she hasn’t.
I wish I could say she’ll be irrelevant in four weeks, when the Republicans lose. But I’m afraid John mcCain has annointed a rightwing nutjob, who will traverse the nation, collecting huge spekaing fees, write a book and re-emerge as a potential 2012 candidate.
Only thing is, if she writes that book, and if her speech pattern is any example of her grasp of the language, we’ll all need a gibberish-to-English dictionary to decipher it.

Your negative talking points about Palin are laughable compared to all the junk Obama has on him. You can see it the other way, but who cares. When I read the words you use to describe her (terrified, etc), it makes me think about the “Obama is a Muslim” people.

We all misspell words on occasion, Rampage. Think Again’s faults don’t lie in her verbage, syntax, or spelling. And her hatred for Gov. Palin goes much deeper than the governor’s use of the language.
If we are to strictly adhere to proscribed laws of the english language, your last post would destroyed. Even though Think Again consistently questions the intelligence of Gov. Palin, we should attack her on her attempts at logic and reasoning, not her word usage or spelling.
To those thinking Americans, it is more important to us that the truth is spoken. The liberals are the ones who favor symbolism over substance. It is they who don’t mind being lied to as long as it as sounds good.

I’ll leave it at this: If you or Karen, or Abdul, or Matt, or Brian, or Jennifer, or anybody that believes “investigative journalism” has given Palin and Obama equitable treatment, please direct me to ONE fat investigative report on Obama’s Chicago political HISTORY from a major newspaper, magazine, or network(excluding FOX & blogs), within the past 18 mos, & I will quietly do nothing but vote between here & election. We’re not talking the singular Rev. Wright or Ayers stuff. I’m talking about the dumpster-diving, comb through the court documents, interview the acquantainces, check the newpaper archive level of an investigative reporting, as was filling Real-Clear Politics for more than a couple of weeks after Palin was chosen by McCain. In the most recent 18 mos of political activity by the most controversial Presidential candidate in awhile, in maybe our most important election ever, there’s got to be some in-depth coverage of Senator Obama’s political ascension, right? Maybe in some of these publications that are doing their job, giving us plenty on the political rise of Governor Palin: Newsweek, The New York Times, The Atlantic, CBS, NBC, etc., right? Please. Systemic corruption of our election process continues. Barack Obama and his old friends at ACORN and Project Vote are leading the way. This radical revolution is taking place in your backyard. This voter-fraud racket is on your dime. On Monday, the two liberal groups announced the wrap-up of a 21-state voter registration drive targeting low-income people and minorities in battleground states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Indiana, and Wisconsin. What’s wrong with that? For starters, these two groups are militant partisan outfits purporting to engage in nonpartisan civic activity. And their campaign comes amid an avalanche of fresh voter-fraud allegations involving ACORN in many of those same key states. On Tuesday, Nevada state officials raided ACORN’s Las Vegas office after election authorities accused the group of submitting multiple voter registrations with fake and duplicate names. ACORN, which receives 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers to pursue an aggressive welfare-state agenda, has already helped register over 1.27 million people nationwide.
The Obama campaign’s “Vote for Change” registration drive, running parallel to ACORN/Project Vote. Funding comes from left-wing heavyweights like billionaire George Soros and the Democracy Alliance. Project Vote, a 501(c) (3) organization, was founded by left-wing lawyer Sandy Newman to register voters in welfare offices and unemployment lines with the goal of turning back the Reagan revolution.
The two groups are inextricably linked — and at their nexus is Barack Obama. In 1992, Newman hired Obama to lead Project Vote efforts in Illinois. The Illinois drive’s motto: “It’s a Power Thing.” (“The ACORN Obama Knows,” June 25, 2008), Obama also trained ACORN members in Chicago. ACORN volunteers worked on his Illinois campaigns and ACORN’s PAC endorsed his primary bid with full backing and muscle. Despite his adamant denials of any association with the group (his Fight the Smears website now claims “Barack Obama never organized with ACORN”), Obama’s political DNA is encoded with the ACORN agenda.
Obama campaign manager David Plouffe bragged of the voter-registration program “will be enormous.” Quantity over quality. It’s the ACORN way.
