Mighty-One made a very good point. Losing control of bodily functions is what happens when you are drunk….this is a fact going toward “reasonable suspicion” and probable cause that she was DRUNK.

It took three months because a special prosecutor needed to be appointed, approved, and conduct his own independent investigation. If “one of us” battered a police officer we wouldn’t have a legally recognized conflict of interest with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office that would require the local prosecutor to recuse himself. Perhaps three months is a tad long for charges to finally end up being filed, but remember, the special prosecutor has his regular duties to attend to (Jim Oliver is the Brown County Prosecutor) in addition to trying to sort this mess out. I am sure he doesn’t want this case to end up the same way the Ron Gibson fiasco turned out so he probably personally interviewed all the officers involved, as well as any potential defense witnesses, so that he could have his ducks in a row before dropping a felony charge on the honorable Ms. Minton. I know Jim Oliver and he is a straight shooter that does things the right way. I would prefer he take his time and get it right as opposed to shooting first and asking questions later.
