Every Democrat Has His Day

Give it to the Democrats.  They got their act together.  They went into a convention with questions and issues about unity, broadening their appeal, the possibility of a floor fight and whether their nominee could hit one out of the park.  Give them credit, they pulled it off.

While the GOP is still struggling to get 10,000 to John McCain’s Vice-Presidential announcement today, the Dems managed to get 80,000 people in a place built for 76,000.  Barack Obama even got praise from Conservatives like Ed Rollins and Charles Krauthammer.

Beating Barack will not be easy.  He has a ton of cash, a heck of an organization (they got an estmiated 3 million phone numbers from last weeks text messaging efforts) and he demonstrated in his speech last night that he will take the gloves off.

To beat him,  the GOP will have to use a scalpel instead of a two by four and methodically cut away at his arguments instead of direct frontal assaults.  Regardless, Republicans underestimate them at their own risk.

So despite your politics, give the man his due.   And let’s see what things look like after the GOP convention in Minnesota.

Your analysis is perfect. A scalpel will be needed.

Only thing is, so far, the Rove crowd hasn’t demonstrated the flair and precision needed for a surgical strike. They’re excellent at front-on assaults, full of mininformation and half-truths, scare tactics.

Finally, a candidate has emerged who may be able to bob and weave through those kinds of attacks.

Still, if I’m a betting man, it’s hard to bet against Rovian tactics. Sadly, they work.

TA..Sen. Obama said it last night..”I get it.” The Rove crowd will have a impossible task this time if they use their usual scare tactics. Sen. Obama gets it.

  3. Think Again

Even if he gets it, Arnie, Rove & Co. are very good.

Obama has his faults. But McCain…ugh. He’ll make Bush look smart. Which is damned near impossible.

    Ta.Yup!

To all naysayers, the fight has just begun. A young woman on the ticket has even the odds that McCain/Palin ticke will win in November. George Bush is not seeking reelection. That my friends is a dead issue. The country didn’t want the Clintons back in the White House either. Lest you forget, NAFTA, the agreement that sent all of those jobs south of the border during the Dems administration. Biden was there when it was signed into law.

Amen. The whole McCain = Bush thing is getting really old. How dumb do you have to be to buy into that rhetoric?
