I'd bet money that the answers would have been
.
1. "MEFTA?" (blank stare - because "we don't talk about MEFTA") followed by some kind of dismissal of MEFTA as something that's obviously insignificant - "after all, if it was important the media would cover it, right?"
.
and 2. SCO? (another blank stare, intended for viewers and camera's) "What's the SCO? I don't want to be dismissive, but these really aren't the kinds of questions that are important to Americans - I'll betcha most people in this room don't even know what you're refering to. Myself included." Because public acknowledgement of the SCO would be public acknowledgement of the crisis that current policy has created - and of the world of hurt that McCain is bringing on us with his continued rhetoric against Iran and other geostrategic Central Asian nations.
.
BTW, you'd probably get the exact same kind of response from Obama and Hillary, only Obama would do it in a way that you couldn't say he dismissed you.

Shore:

Very interesting questions.

Your answer would likely be: because McCain is so closely tied to Bush's foreign policy, we'll likely be invading Iran before the election anyway.

Sad, but true.

Qustion if I were there. To save him embarrassment and keep from being tossed out on my head, I'd limit myself to a few softballs.
.
1. If MEFTA were collectively abandoned by current member states (with the possible exception of Israel), how would it impact US policy initiatives in the Middle East under your leadership - specific towards Trade, Finance, Energy, and Security?
.
2. How would Iranian admission to the SCO impact McCain policy towards Iran?
