To quote Robert Heinlein: "An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life."

Now that the SCOTUS has upheld the right of the individual to carry, perhaps more Indy residents will take up arms to protect themselves from the heathens that are trying to take over the city. Then all IMPD will have to do is send a meat wagon to pick up the pieces.

I was referring to the fact that when Abdul said the same thing last year there wasn't a great deal of upheaval over his statement, not whether or not crime itself was in the news.

Shabazz, you really need to leave the topic of law enforcement alone in your thoughts and postings of same. Regardless of your intentions, every time you have gotten involved in it, either directly with this topic or indirectly with the defunct 'Indyundercover', you have gotten ripped. Leave well enough alone. However, continue to report on the officers getting jammed up. That info IS vital for the public to be aware of.

Uh-hem, I think the rise in crime last year during the end of the Peterson administration was at the top of the issue list. So what are you talking about?

That last post was supposed to start with the "[satire:on]/[satire:off] function". Which further illustrates my point. It's not working.

My perspective: The / funtion doesn't always work as expected in the blogging world. Having been a victim of that faulty tool in the past, I can understand where Abdul is coming from. Live and learn.

It actually seems like people get way more riled up about something someone SAYS than they do about the things people are actually doing.

I have no explanation why it works that way.

We live in a world where, if someone kills a person in the 'hood, no one says anything to help put the criminal in jail, but if we say something that rubs folks the wrong way, they'll yell and scream bloody murder.

Isn't that odd?
