JLTV

Here’s Jill Long Thompson’s first general election television ad.  I’m interested in your thoughts.  And yes, she does mention growing up on a farm.

I suppose if you already believe that the state is in the crapper that this ad may mean something. If you don’t, then there is nothing here to convince you otherwise–or that she would be right for addressing the issues.

If I hear it right, the fact that she grew up on a farm is her qualification.

Just my two cents worth. It looks to me like she is squinting in the sun or in some kind of pain. Overall I thought it was pretty much….Boring. I am not a big Mitch fan but give the man his due….his commercials are really good even if I don’t agree with some of the ocntent. JLT needs to raise some more money and find herself a new production company.

    Peace

  3. Think Again

    The production is third-rate.

Uh, Joel…the state IS nearly in the crapper. Only creative accounting by the Mitch team makes it otherwise.

And it will get worse when payroll tax receipts dip next quarter, because–TA DA–less people are working at good jobs. A lot less people.

Keep on dreamin, Joel. McCain’s folks need your spin. Badly.

No, she went negative, told us she can relate, and told us nothing of our plan. Oh, and she’s as wooden as can be.

    She taking notes from McCain?

  5. Mike Kole

    So.

  6. Angry Democrat

Jill Long Thompson is banking on the big black voter turnout in the Democrat Party to carry her into office along with Obama and Carson in Marion County. All she needs to do is bash Daniels and the Republicans in her ads even if she is not being factual.

  7. U-Haul on Stand-by

If this st_te elects this sk_nk, I’m moving.

Hey in my youth, I actually worked on a farm using a weed hook to cut out weeds from a bean field! It was grueling, hot and nasty work. I lasted all of two weeks which is all I give Jill! Mitch has a surplus and will bury her in the election.

  9. Think Again

U-Haul: if that’s your attitude, move now. I’ll chip in in for the truck.

JLT is not a skunk. Lousy campaigner, yes. But not a skunk.

Think Again, it is interesting that you say that I don’t think the state is in the crapper (I don’t, but my comment did not indicate what I think either way). I’m not spinning the information, I am reviewing the ad–which was awful because it does nothing to help the candidate.
    .
Now as for “creative accounting”–that creative accounting is resulting in cash in the bank. YOU can spin it any way you like, but in general, that is a good situation.

  11. Joel

And IF the state is “nearly” in the crapper, then JLT would do well to demonstrate why it is. She would need to demonstrate that there is creative accounting. Showing four “For Sale” signs or pictures of dilapidated properties is not evidence and does not convince that the state is doing poorly. Mitch can (and has) shown far more pictures of new factories to overcome that measly “evidence”.

  12. U-Haul

Think Again, I wasn’t calling her a skunk. You might “think again,” and this time, plug in the letter “a.”

Today’s insult has ben brought to you by the letter A.

For the first time in the state’s history, we have earned a credit rating of AAA. Anyone who paints the picture of our state being “…in the crapper..” is either deliberately lying or ignorant of the facts.

Mitch obviously has way more money to spend on production values for his commercials. JLT probably needs to spend what little she has on air time. It’s all about the money.

  15. Uncommon Sense

That was 30 seconds of nothing, really. It’s not at all persuasive, as Joel points out. I’d hope she could do better.
