THE GREAT FLOOD OF 2008

As Indiana deals with some of the worst flooding in nearly 100 years, here are some things to ponder.

1.  Hoosiers who don’t have flood insurance; some who didn’t live on a flood plain and others who tried to get flood insurance, but it wasn’t offered in their area.

2.  As waters recede, the potential for mosquitoes and West Nile virus increase.

3.  The possibility of more rain.

Just some things to think about in the wake of the worst flood in 100 years.

Don’t forget trying to sell a property on East lake in the Prince’s Lakes community. We just lost our dam and I can’t imagine who will want to buy this place with the big unknown on the horizon.

Interested in what you think: if people chose/choose not to pay for flood insurance, especially if they do not live in a flood zone
(nothing like this since 1931–before most were even born), should the State step in to provide financial support?

Does the State have a financial responsibility in terms of lost property tax revenue if the
homeowners do not return to their homes?

Is there a seperate legal and ethical response?

Pull up our pants and get this work done. We need alot of money I think we should all get free gasoline for the nest 12 months.
