Here is a thought…if he somehow does get on the ballot, since he comes from Sullivan County, which may be the most dixiecrat county in the state…there is a chance that he would actually hurt JLT more than Mitch, b/c the only votes he would likely get are going to be from those small southern indiana dixiecrat counties…

If anyone in this country is waiting on FEMA for anything, they’re in for a long wait.

There isn’t a more effed up organization in government. George Bush has sent political hacks there for 7.5 yrs., and we’re paying the price.

I just wanted to say after watching all the flooding here in Indiana and the other midwestern states, I am very impressed with these hard working citizens who didn’t sit and wait for someone from the government to come in and fix things, but rolled up their sleeves and started to do for themselves.

Yes, they DO deserve help, and I hope it isn’t the same FEMA that shows up at the table as the one that did in New Orleans, but I am amazed at these people and have gladly opened my wallet.

Breakfast at Bart’s was a huge success. I organized it, but I can’t say it was my idea. Bart wouldn’t come out of his house to talk to the very people his commercials said he “banded with”. It made all the papers that Bart ignored the taxpayers.

I don’t think Mitch Daniels would ignore us though. I think he would talk with us. But I don’t think he would show us the numbers of why he claims we cannot eliminate property tax.

And regarding the Christians, well anybody ought to get to believe anything they want including the Christians.

They just need to honor my right to believe anything I want to believe and keep their religion out of my government.

Melyssa: I don’t need a Christian in office It’s not a requirement. I am one, and dont’ base my vote on that fact.

Dave: you had me until you equated all-day kindergarten with socialism. Knock it off, huh?

John Price is a capable lawyer who’s right of Atilla the Hun on most issues, Melyssa. When you start mixing personal religious beliefs with governance, mischief usually follows.

But…get that tax rally rogether, Melyssa, and I’ll be there. I still think it’d be a hoot to picket the Geist home of our governor. Crowded (the roads are a bear…narrow, no parking) but effective.

I’m not too comfortable with the idea Waterman because of John Price. While I appreciate some of the work that Price has done on the property tax front (especially the document to request a refund) I believe John Price would love for us to have some of our personal freedoms snatched from us.

I think he’d rather women like myself never had a right to practice female dominance, for instance. I don’t think Price thinks a woman should ever have the right to choose an abortion, give gays the right to declare themselves married, or be anything except a right wing Christian born again.

His very out there support of Waterman scares me about Waterman

If you guys want conservatism, rule of law, AND a dedicated christian in office…vote for Andy Horning. Andy won’t judge you if you don’t go to church, nor will he push his religion down the throats of Hoosiers. He won’t because his job description as the state’s top executive is to govern the government.

I have a shadow box frame which contains a pile of fake s**t and, a can of Shinola. There is a brass plate attached, with the Latin inscription “Quod Sciam”–Translation: “As far as I know”.

All that I know is that neither; Mitchpoleon nor JLT could discern the difference between dog mess and chocolate pudding in a taste test.

Maybe its time to elect someone who knows the difference between the two but, doesn’t waste time with Shinola, while it’s raining S**T!

Challenges to the status low don’t happen in a vacuum. Might failed leadership (cowardly spectacle of NO OPEN floor discussions on property tax repeal, summer “study” sessions, sound-bite gimmicks like 1/2/3, the misspelling of relief as “I-N-C-R-E-A-S-E” which is an old Washington DeCeit trick, misplaced / diverted attention from shirked oversight of the state & DLGF) and cradle to grave socialism in the form of things like all day kindergarten; might that be part of the problem (a la John McCain at the national level).

We need Constitutionally reconciled government- NOW! We don’t need government that’s reconciled to lobbyists at the abuse & expense of taxpayers and someone has to lead (assume the parental role) at the state level.

Since the primary, I’ve heard TOO MANY conservatives say they will either vote for JLT or not vote at all in the Governor’s race. I see that as a problem.

Tangentially, Abdul’s idea of a 3% transaction tax in Marion County is an excellent idea worth exploring & could be a model for the state(s). However, any concern that the “… land gets some services,” as a rationale to support some level of property taxes is misplaced- people use or benefit from services, not land, a fact which does not support a flawed, highly subjective and opaque methodology like the assessment system. “Get rid of it,” is the suggestion of a very capable economist, Dr. Bill Styring.
