City-County Councilor Arrested

Indianapolis City-County Councilor Doris Minton-McNeil was arrested tonight at her home for allegedly shoving a police officer while intoxicated. According to IMPD sources, police were called to McNeil’s residence in the 2000 block of Medford Avenue at about 6 this evening.

Sources say McNeil appeared to have been drinking and was intoxicated when she was approached by a female police officer who tried to get McNeil to go back into her home.

McNeil allegedly resisted and was placed under arrest. That was when McNeil reportedly told the officer, “do you know who I am?” She also reportedly accused the officers of taking her to jail, “because she was black.”

Sources say McNeil faces charges of resisting arrest and felony battery on a police officer.

McNeil serves in City-County Council District 15. She was appointed this past Spring to fill the vacancy left by Andre Carson when he was elected to Congress.

Marion County GOP Chairman Tom John called for McNeil to resign.

    Here we go again.
    What a mess!

What’s with these democrats and the statement “do you know who I am” when confronted by police?
Has McNeal taken lessons from Gibson? Did she tell the officers that she was their boss? Will Haith defend her too?
These people are jokes, Indy deserves better than this.

At some point, it’s going to be easier to count Democratic CC Council members who haven’t been arrested.

Folks, regardless of party affiliation, this is unacceptable. Dishonesty, corruption, abuse of power knows no party. Only we the people can influence the character of our leadership profile. Through our vote. Respect is earned, not appointed. Long before there was black political corruption, there was white political corruption. Why do we stand for either? Lets demand higher standards. Saying that you are an elected governmental offical is almost synonymous with saying that you are morally, legally and/or socially corrupt. God I am getting tired of this crap.

  5. Guess Who

No surprise to me. The Democrat Party in Marion County is known for electing uneducated and immoral people to office. Who is she? I have never heard of her. She seems to be following in steps of some other known democrats that should have been arrested and convicted. I vote and live in the 15th District.

Looks like the whole county knows who she is - now.

Is this the best of the people in this distict that the democrats can come up with. First we had one that did not even live there, then we had Carson now Doris. Why is it that everything that happens involves race instead of personal responiblity?

This seat is jinxed. We’ll see if the CCC Dems offer her a suspension. Maybe Monroe Gray can bail her out.

So far we have ‘man sent by her father’, ’someone hired to work on the home’, ‘pedofile in the house’, ‘knife wielding man’. Quite a crowd being reported by the media.

When I googled the address, the street view map shows a startled and suspicious-looking fellow wearing an orange shirt, standing on the sidewalk across the street.

I’m sure she wasn’t the best person they could have found in that district. However, the Marion County Democratic Party is an elitist organization with a bad habit of appointing anyone who is a mindless zombie in line with the status-quo of the party. I think when a seat is vacated, the people should decide who should fill it and not a contingent of party insiders.

The party that brought you Julia Carson, Monroe Gray, and Ron Gibson proudly presents:

    Doris Minton-McNeil!!!!

What a group of fine, upstanding citizens!
Now, if they could just nominate Frank Anderson for mayor……? Aahh, the possibilities……..
