Dear Shorebreak: Perhaps you were talking about RIchard HAASS, not Richard Haas? If so, Richard Haass has a remarkably accomplished resume and has gone through full Senate “vetting” prior to several of the noteworthy posts he has held, for both Republican and Democratic administrators/adminstrations. So what’s your point??? P.S. Check out your chowder. It may have catfish in it.

My take on the article is more political mishmash and hodgepodge with no actual substance. “He said, she said” etc. The entire Dem primary process is based upon that kind of shallow rhetoric - because if anyone ever digs below the surface, the facade and illegitimacy of the process will quickly become evident.

Getting back to Richard Haas, for example. He was the US State Department director of foreign policy appointed by GW Bush, prior to becoming chairman of the CFR. He’s one of Obama’s leading advisors on foreign policy. And is advising McCain as well.

What does that tell you in terms of where we’re going after the next election? To-may-to, to-mah-to. Any way you slice it, you’re getting the same direction in foreign policy.

And Greg Craig is in the mix too, as Abdul has wisely pointed out. He had Richard Haas’ job at the State Department, only it was under Clinton. Director of US Foreign Policy.

Now ask yourself this: What is Obama gonna do in terms of US foreign policy that’s any different from Clinton and Bush? His advisors, who are also advising McCain, are Bush and Clinton appointees who constructed the policies that brought us to our current disaster. We’ve returned to nuclear brinksmanship with Russia, we’re talking about a “re” surge in Iraq, the Taliban is retaking Afghanistan (75% control at this point), we’re arming a breakawy republic in the Balkans (continuation of Clinton policy), the dollar is turned down at foreign exchanges, etc, etc, etc.

A vote for Obama is a vote for Hillary is a vote for McCain. Any way you slice it, we get a proponent of Marxist centralisation whose executive staff and appointees will continue with the same polices implemented and carried out by the Bush/Clinton regime.

Absent a crisis, we should not spend more than we take in.

Your show of love, leadership, and judgment demonstrated the bond of unity and patriotism that’s needed to hold our country together. There is no doubt that growth, development, and a change in our democracy can only take place in an atmosphere of peace and security. I urge you to continue to do all that you are doing to bring unity, peace and much more to maintain an atmosphere of tolerance, harmony, dialogue, inclusion, and patriotism to this great county.

I went to a town meeting in Austin where Obama spoke about the economy and his plans to improve it. (I lived in Indiana up until I was 28, and now live in Austin, Texas) I think he knows what he is talking about. I also think he is very sincere and a true Christian. I have never been excited about any politician since I have been able to vote until NOW. It was always a Clinton or a Bush, and they seemed very similar. At least Obama speaks to the public as if we are intelligent and he does not speak in sound bites. He believes and understands the American people more than any Bush or Clinton I’ve heard speak. And soldiers I know from Iraq base their criteria on who is patriotic based on who cares enough to be informed! Obama’s different than the rest, and he doesn’t cowtow to the lobbyists. I remember studying Roosevelt and the New Deal when I was young, and I think Obama is somewhat like FDR.
The man has integrity. Come on Indiana. Make us proud! Don’t fall into the same trap that Ohio unfortunately was thrown into when the Clintons began their lies and ridiculous mudslinging.
