FAMILY FEUD?
The friendly rivals over at Blue Indiana have some interesting posts today on the race for the 7th Congressional District. After being on a conference call with the DCCC, B.I. reports the party says it will back Andre Carson through the May primary against all other challengers.
“When asked if the DCCC would be supporting Andre Carson in the May Primary after the Special Election, the DCCC said that they would indeed be staffing and funding the Carson campaign against the other contenders in the crowded Primary field. The Primary includes candidates such as State Reps. David Orentlicher and Carolene Mays, as well as Dr. Woody Myers and Frances Nelson among other rumored but not yet official candidates.
The fact that the DCCC will be monkeying around in such a contentious primary is a slap in the face to the voters in the Special Election March 11th. Should Carson lose the Special to GOP nominee State Rep. Jon Elrod on March 11th, his campaign essentially is getting a do-over in the May Primary. This is truly an astounding turn of events, as prior to today the DCCC had been non committal about supporting Carson in the May Primary.”
Your thoughts.

By the way, how is poor Jonathon Elrod coming with his quixotic search for national Republican support and cash? Still trying to get blood from a turnip? Maybe just a roll of postage stamps for him to use at his desk at the Statehouse?

Wilson – for shame! Can’t you stay on topic??
The subject at hand is Andre Carson and the DCCC. Why do you insist on changing the subject in the first comment?
I’m appalled.

I’m amused!

Jon will win, and then Wilson will claim he saw it coming the whole time. Because Wilson is only capable of being a contrarian, like the rest of the people in his party. He thrives on being wrong.
February 20th, 2008 at 9:18 am
I always supported Carson – never Blankenbaker, Hoffmeister, Scott, McVey, Horning or Dickerson.
I’m still supporting a Carson: André Carson. I’ll leave poor Jonathon Elrod to fuzzy curmudgeons and other folk that thrive on being wrong…

This is why Democrats who support other candidates in the primary should bite the bullet and vote for Jon Elrod on March 11. In fact, do it sooner. Go to the City County building and vote absentee today.
Mr. Carson should not have the benefit of incumbency in the May primary. And the DCCC should keep their asses out of the Democratic primary.

Andre Carson could also lose to Sean Shepard. Do not under estimate how angry we are with both parties. I got to know Sean last year at the tax protests and he knows the issues cold.
Wilson, how wrong were you about Peterson and Beth White?
February 20th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
In my little ole Democratic Party lifetime I have never contributed to a Republican candidate until Jon Elrod. I am lighting candles (even though I am a Baptist) and encouraging everyone of my business and politicial associates to vote for someone we know doesn’t share our own philosophies on government in order to do our part to prevent Granny’s Seed from getting elected.

Missouri…I watch your comments on here and you are a smart cookie. Don’t let the mentality of “lesser evil” take you over. Please listen to the debates, contact the candidates, and vote who you KNOW is the very best person to represent you. Even if, God forbid, that person is the Libertarian.
.
I’ve got a theory for you tax revolters to chew on.
.
You want to stir up the status quo? Then see to it that Indiana sends the 1st Libertarian to Congress, but only if you think he’s the best candidate.
.That will scare the political status quo both in the state legislature and Washington more than anything else you could do.
.
It will also put our property tax crisis into even more national light…and national light equal pressure on the politicians to do the people’s will and the rule of law.

Who cares on how much money Carson recieves, at the end of the day. If any of the candidates have a strong platform of change here in Indianapolis, rather than the keeping of traditional politics that Carson preaches, then he will surely loose the race. The committee person who endorsed Carson, are them same dummies that was on the pull pit telling the on goers that they indeed where going to make sure he wins, by any means neccessary. Traditioanl politics means, increase crime, and violence in our community. Traditional politics also tells us, that if you are not connected with these knuckle heads in terms of building and expanding businesses, then you surely will be on your way to poverty. The uninformed African American community will be the loosers in this election, if he wins. The demoratic party warns all candidates to save their comments until March 11. Where democracy? Better than that ask Carson define what is Democracy and see what kind of answer you get.

Just saw a new Andre ad on TV. THREE, count ‘em, THREE deputies in the commercial. Kerry Forrestal and two others that I don’t immediately recognize in their brown uniforms “conferring” with Andre. Isn’t this illegal? But there’s no politics in law enforcement, right?
February 20th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Why do we keep asking if using public servants in political ads is legal or not? Somebody in charge needs to come up with an answer so action can be taken against Carson if he did indeed break the law. Abdul, can’t you in your infinite wisdom find that out?

This is yet another reason why the Indiana Democratic Party and the MCDP need a shake up from top to bottom. This will further become complicated when Evan Bayh does not deliver the state primary to Hillary Clinton. My insider tells me there is really no love lost between Bayh and Obama. Evan will very soon get Birched.

Folks it isn’t just the Democrats, it is also the Republicans who are holding Indiana from achieving diversity. Face it, Indiana does’nt want Hoosiers to think outside the box. Look at the Kernal consolidation proposal that was introduce to Daniel. When they made their initial press conference, not one single African American was in attendance, no Asians, Hispanics, just white men. There is certainly a hidden agenda here would you agree? Consolidation in decrease Government spending. Come folks it works both ways here involve the citizens when it come to any changes that is being propose to our elected officials. If not, then we’ll continue to live in the past, and Indiana will be only known for one thing, well two things…racism, Indy 500, and Basketball and continue neglect of the Seventh Congressional District of Indianapolis.

Will Andre ask the DCCC not to send any negative ads during the special and or primary and or General election ? If so will he have any great pull with the DCC than Julia Carson had when she asked them not to send any negative ads yet they ignored her wishes in the 2006 election.

Melyssa I have posted this before….. if you are one and the same as the Melyssa I know you sat across from me at TWP the independent Yellow Pages as a Sales Rep. Are you?
February 21st, 2008 at 2:07 pm
This put the nail in the proverbial coffin. For the first time in my 30 some years I am crossing over and voting Republican. I am sorry, but Andre is an embarrassment to the most important race, the human race.
February 21st, 2008 at 5:47 pm
To answer Wilson’s snarky first comment, Elrod is getting $$ and personnel from the state party and from Sen. Lugar, so the Carsonites can stop worrying about Elrod’s footsoldiers and finances. He’ll be OK.

Wilson,
-
It “is” interesting when the public gets a chance to peek into the activities of public officials during a campaign. I personally believe that public officials should be under strict scrutiny at all times. It’s the price that should be paid in order to assure an honest leadership.
-
I wonder… do you think that Andre would agree with me? I also wonder if Andre would consider making public ALL of his campaign activities. I have a feeling that if the whole can of beans were spilled in public, Carson would be run out of town.
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:58 pm
No candidate ever makes public all his or her campaign activities. You however make the obvious smear that Carson is hiding something nefarious. Is that anything like your well-known propensity for kicking puppy dogs or are you just “fabricating” like I did? Maybe if people knew all your financial dealings you’d get indicted? Is that why you always hide your identity? What exactly are you hiding anyways?
See how easy it is to insinuate crap? Stop your cowardly smears, “Shorebreak” (if that indeed is your real name). You should be ashamed of your mudslinging and dirty campaign tricks! It pollutes American politics…
February 23rd, 2008 at 9:08 am
Wilson tells someone they should be ashamed of themselves for mudslinging? Now I’ve heard it all.
February 23rd, 2008 at 11:11 am
Wilson, why is it mudslinging when it is against ‘your’ candidates and ‘constructive criticism’ when it is coming from you?
Oh! I know why you are a HYPOCRITE!!!
February 23rd, 2008 at 11:41 am
Once again, the nattering anonymous nabobs of negativity try to make me the issue instead serious political discussion. They are so easily distracted…

For those who have read comments 1-24 on this blog sequence I hope you have arrived at the same fair, honest, and objective conclusion as myself regarding Mr.Wilson46201.
Mr Wilson46201 is a discredit to himself due to hie insensitive arrogance; a libility to his candidate, Mr. Andre’ Carson; a disgrace to the Democratic Party he claims to represent; and a pitiful but putrid example of both personal lack of integrity, and professional ineptitude.
It is even more shocking that the Indiana Democratic Party has, through moral default, descended to the tragic level so aptly demonstrated by their verbally abusive employee, Mr Wilson.
The entire spectacle of the manipulated process through which the party officials annointed Mr. Carson to be the candidate was, in itself, cause for alarm.
Didn’t you realize, Mr. Parker, that the average Democrat on the street in the 7th district was going to resent having you conjure up Mr. Carson’s qualifications when the whole city knew it just reeked with the stench of nepotism and arrogant exercise of poer?
We, the people are going to trample on your handpicked “Grandma’s Boy” in the May 6th primary just to teach you snotty so-called leaders that you are not as powerful as Mr. Wilson wishes you were.
Mr. Wilson’s insults, derogatory comments, smart-alec attitude, and lack of repect for the people(voters) is perceive as an accurate reflection of Indiana Demcratic Party officials.
After what I have seen from both Mr. Carson and Mr. Wilson is more than enough for me to consider actually voting for little Mr. Elrod on March 11th 2008 just to slap your piggish faces.

Joseph Stockett (Hippie Joe) is a candidate on the ballot for Congress for the Primary. He is also a convicted felon and spent years in Federal penitentiaries for arson. He was also recently incarcerated for firearm violations…
