WARNING: ANGRY TAXPAYERS AHEAD!

How soon we forget the last election.

Indiana lawmakers are starting hem and haw about meaningful property tax reform.  They can’t even decide whether the job of township assessors should be elected or appointed.  I’m also hearing that capping levies will hurt local governments.  Freezing assessments will hurt schools. Everyone seems to be looking for an excuse not to do something when as Senator Luke Kenley keeps pointing out something needs to be done to provide homeowners with permanent property tax relief.

Someone needs to remind members of the Indiana General Assembly that the taxpayers are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.  I am not in favor of a total repeal of property taxes, but I understand the anger and frustration of the anti-tax crowd.  Especially as I start to hear excuse after excuse about why nothing can get done.

Maybe we should move the May primary up to January.   Because if these 150 members of the Legislature won’t do the job and provide Hoosiers with permanent property tax relief, then maybe it’s time to get a new legislature.

Wilson only spins to the left.

"Wilson, if you cared about this state and town you would hold the people in your party accountable for what they do and say."

That would require Wilson to do the right thing. It will never happen.
  • Joe
It is amazing how a person like Wilson can side track a conversation. His talking points and perspective are in lock step with 30+ years of far left liberal philosophy. A philosophy that has been proven time and again that it is not what this state or country needs.

It is the same tired old view that enables the GA and local government to perpetuate its abuse of the voters.

Wilson, if you cared about this state and town you would hold the people in your party accountable for what they do and say. Extremism on either side is not going to bring about the changes needed.

I've read the blather from government, and from IPS. They both believe that they have an inherent right to exist.
This is not so. We the People can abolish our form of government whenever we like, and form a new one.
Can government abolish We the People?
    .
I wish that elections were held on 15 April.

He can't set up his own blog! He would have NOTHING to write about. Thats why he comments on other blogs.
He was the main "anonymous" contributor on IndyU, when the comments were negative.
  • Jay
I still recall Luke Kenley appearing like a twit in a Colts cap in the legislative session where they decided to pop $600 million in tax money to build the Colts a new stadium.

It's gonna get worse as there's a ten million $ annual shortfall just from the stadium.

If we'd have reined in spending we wouldn't be in this jam...instead we the people supported all this stuff - and once the uproar dies down, nothing of any magnitude will be done about taxes - or especially about spending.

    More of the same.
  • Chris
I keep telling Wilson to set up a blog. It's free, and it would be the talk of the town.
  • GaryJ
Wilson just has this weird obsession with Abdul, UndyU, Greg Ballard, and others that he would like to emmulate.
Get over it, Wilson. Now you will have to find someplace else to spread your manure!

So when will we hear about the real IndyU story here?"

Gee, I didn't realize that this thread was about IndyU. I thought it was about ego-manical state legislators telling us that they know what's best for us and that we should just shut up and take it.

How much longer will here be here?

In less than 11 months the voters of Indiana will send a message to the General Assembly, not unlike the message sent to local government. If the GA and the governor do not heed the needs/wants of the proletariat they could very well find themselves in the same position as Mayor Peterson and several CCC members - unemployed.

Let state officials continue their arrogance. It allows the voters to see what these officials truly think of the voter. Leadership is being able to make decisions that are not always popular. However much of Indiana's "leadership" is entrenched in a mindset that goes back 30+ years. Perhaps that is because many of the senior leaders in the GA have been there for nearly thirty years.

I again say let their arrogance continue, and let the revolution that began this past November grow and throw the rascals out!
