CARSON TO RESIGN?
I’m hearing this morning that 7th District Congresswoman Julia Carson may resign her seat by the end of the week. Carson revealed publicly this weekend that she has terminal lung cancer and is now in hospice care. If she does step down a special election would have to be called for her replacement. Stay tuned.

From the sound of things…it won’t be long.
First, we’ll grieve.
Then, hopefully, someone will talk some sense to Andre, because he cannot win and is not qualified.

It’s about time. I hate to say that, but if you’re AWOL from work for that long it’s time to recruit a replacement.
Andy Jacobs already did that, though, two weeksn ago by declaring Andre the de-facto replacement. Once that seed was planted it’s a done deal.
I’ve been saying for the past two years the district would be “handed off” like that as soon as Andre was declared the official spokesman.
Nothing against the guy; he seems like a good kid. I’m a big proponent of young, inexperienced guys not being a marionette of special interest in office; just look at my own track-record.

Andy Jacobs is crazy. Give me a break. Andre is out of his league and you can bet he wouldn’t POOP without someone telling him too. What we need is representation of the PEOPLE, not for a select few.

It’s about time she resigned!!
And Andy Jacobs says she’s the most intellegent woman he’s ever met? Gag me with a spoon!! He must not meet a lot of ladies!

The Democrat Machine wrongfully concealed from the electorate the fact that it had a vacant seat in congress, by lying about her health. This shows the contempt of The Democrat Machine toward the voters, as they hung onto a congressional seat that was not able to vote for such a long period of time.
The Democrat Machine effectively denied us a vote in congress by failing to be candid.

Muckraker - In many other years this would make a difference. However this year it seems the key votes were on topics of importance to Democrats. S-CHIP, ENDA, and micromanaging Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I find it strange that her DC Office says that she will try to make it back to work early next year ?
Why the confusion in press releases between her DC and Local / Campaign staffs ?

Why won’t Carson and her machine fess up and tell the truth?
Is she in hospice care and near the end?
She should resign, without further delay.

Surely when the shock of the seriousness of her situation clears, Ms. Carson will do the right thing by the people she was chosen to represent: resign immediately so that those good people can have the vigorous, active representation they deserve.

Surely, you jest? The constituents of the 7th District haven’t had the ‘vigorous, active representation they deserve’ for more than a decade.

Her staff knew this day was coming for over a year - and this is the best plan they came up with in that time ?
