BLACK, WHITE AND SHADES OF SILLINESS
My colleague Gary Welsh at Advance Indiana has an interesting post about a fundraising letter sent out by former Indiana Democratic Party Chairman Robin Winston soliciting money for Democratic City-County Council Members, In so many words, Winton says if Democrats lose control of the Council, Blacks and other minorities will suffer setbacks under Republican rule.
Let me translate what that means in English, “if Republicans win the Council we’re going to lose out on a lot of sweetheart deals and there will continue to be no accountability.” I don’t mind people using the system to get their hands on a piece of the pie, but when you start engaging in some of the most disingenuous race-baiting, I have no use for you. But then again, what do I know? Enough to see through nonsense like this.

Not to sidetrack, but I was waiting with great anticipation to see who would make the first accusation that Barak Obama was “acting white.” I see that Jesse Jackson won.

I am a certified MBE and it is very interesting to me is that Gov. Mitch Daniels (a Republican)has been more transparent and consistent with and demanding of the MBE/WBE process than his predecessors.

I was sent that invite by a faithful friend and forwarded to Gary. I knew Gary would know what to do with it. I’m glad he wasted no time.
I think we need to protest that meeting and let everyone passing by the building know exactly what is going on inside. I think it would also be a good idea to get a lot of photos of who is supporting it.
Let’s have a news conference, shall we? Keep you eye on Hoosiers For Fair Taxation website for an announcement and press release.

Melyssa is the bright one! A whole bunch of white folks protesting a political gathering by local African-Americans? Positively brilliant!!!

Maybe this will detect from Winston’s letter;
Former Peterson Official Endorses Ballard
The former Public Safety Director for Mayor Bart Peterson, Robert Turner, endorsed GOP mayoral candidate Greg Ballard over his former boss. In a stinging rebuke of Peterson, Turner urged law enforcement and public servants to support Ballard with contributions of time and money.

Wilson,
What does race have to do with a protest? If there is something wrong with the system any citizen of any race should be able to protest without being targeted. Your style of thinking is what is wrong with society now.

Turner is a Republican. But he is doing more then the GOP central Committee.

Absolutely PITIFUL of Winston. The really sad part is many people will probably agree with him.

Didn’t take Wilson long to label me a racist, did it? I’m going to tell my ex-roommate (one of my best friends) who is black that you are calling me racist. Wonder what he would have to say to that?
Just because I’m white doesn’t mean I don’t hang out with people of color. Last I checked Abdul is black and I go to some of his events and have hugged him too! Can you believe it? I hugged a black man! I think I’ve hugged Darla a time or two as well. Might have even given her a peck on the cheek too. (I’m the kissing/hugging type)
I’m pretty sure there will be paparazzi at the fundraiser representing many ethnicities and socio-economic classes united against CORRUPTION, not people of color.

Who are these minority contractors? I think the Republicans should write their own rebuttal letter. In case they don’t, I will:
Dear Minority Business Owner:
You just received an insulting letter from Democratic Party Chairman Robin Winston. They think you are too inept to get contracts on your own merit with Republicans on the Council. They think you are too stupid to see through this threat. They think because they slap your back and call you by name that you will always be in their camp no matter how many times they have sold you out behind the scenes and use you to keep inept people in power on the council and as mayor.
Drink their wine and shake their hands but wise up and vote them out.
Sincerely,
Observing taxpayer sticking up for injustice against qualified Republicans-(mb)

I’m getting so sick of the stupid race card! Truffly (truthfully) I hope these whiners get the boot. I’m tired of the ignorant masses electing people of color that have absolutely no business in office such as “Where am I” Carson, “King” Row, Pea Shack Shake, Ron “I’m not that gay” Gibson, “Your money is my money” Hobbs and so forth. Just because they’re black doesn’t mean they have your back!

Once you go black you never go back, Melyssa. (:

Oscar…don’t expect me to be getting too friendly with the likes of Vernon Brown, Monroe Gray, Andre Carson or other members of that mob of thieves.
I’m absolutely sickened upon learning about Andre Caron’s new job at Cripe Architects. What qualifies him for that job? The awarding of city contracts needs to become much more transparent to the public.

ummm…Melyssa: Andr? has a Masters in Business Management. Not too shabby, eh?
Also, you might wish to consult your lawyer before you go around blithely calling folk “thieves” - he can give you a quick explanation of slander and libel laws!

There’s a big difference between “marketing” and “business management”. Also, I’m not aware he has any architectural experience. The voters aren’t stupid Wilson, we can see right through it.
And I know a lot about libel in regard to public officials…especially when they vote to steal our money against our loudly expressed wishes!
