I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER FOR YOU
I know I should be talking about tax reform and government efficiency, but something happened at last night’s City-County Council meeting that I didn’t quite notice when it happened, but once I went back and checked, all I did was become livid.
City-County Council member Ron Gibson (D-At Large) said the prayer at the start of the meeting. During his prayer, Gibson asked for the usuals, guidance for the city, protection for public safety officers, etc., but it was the end of his prayer that caught my eye, ear, nose and throat.
He said, “Lord I pray that those who have judgment on me, I pray they will allow the truth to prevail.” Excuse me? Say that again? For those of you don’t know, Gibson was been charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and battery for allegedly shoving an officer last year outside a night club during Indiana Black Expo last year. Gibson has come under criticism for his actions and some have called for his resignation.
It’s one thing to have personal issues and to ask God for guidance and forgiveness, it’s another thing to do that in a public forum that’s meant for something else. Gibson’s interjection of his personal issues was uncalled for. The alleged incident was pretty much off of everyone’s radar screen until Gibson brought it back up. Maybe he should ask God for better timing.
Asking God to save you because of choices you make is one thing. Putting it on display for everyone to see is just sad. Maybe if Gibson had paid a little more attention to God he wouldn’t be in the situation that he’s in right now.

Whenever a loser like Gibson or Michael Vick make bad choices, they go public to call upon God to save their sorry as$. NEWSFLASH you losers - God’s has nore important things to do than bail your butt out of trouble.
By the way, did the son of State Senator Glen “dem just peashakes” Howard get off on a marijuana charge? Why did Monroe “Sweet Pea” Gray show up unannounced at another marijuana bust? I guess it’s good to know the right people in this corrupt local government cesspool we call Indy. Thanks Bart.

For my part, my attention had already wandered as he had run on for so awfully long. Blah blah, blah blah, blah blah, Amen.
Besides, some people should be careful what they pray for, as they might get it. His truth might not be THE truth.
Monroe Gray kinda passed on the Pledge too. Anybody else notice that?

Frankly, I didn’t get too exercised about the prayer: there are too many other things going on (or not going on) in the CCC to be concerned about that.
Maybe every member of the CCC should start the proceedings with a prayer for personal help. They need all the help they can get.

I’m sorry, but what a mockery. Seriously, what the hell is this?!! This &^%$ is out of control.

God will hold him accountable as will the court.

An excellent example of a public forum being misused for self-centered purposes, especially as it pertains to the Democrat At-Large councilors. Surely this isnt a shock, is it, Abdul? The only one who has a shred of personal and professional decorum is Sanders, and even then, her logic in supporting several bills has been suspect (Mansfield’s failed gun ban as an example). But, you get what you elect. I’m glad there’s alternatives on the ballot.

It’s things like this that make real Christians look bad, and I, for one, don’t appreciate it.

Abdul, how true … how true
half the world is below average and sometimes it makes one wonder if that half below-average population is working in government as elected and appointed officals

Couldn’t he just follow Abduallah and gracefully resign? Maybe he should pray for grace rather than deliverance from justice.

Well, Mr. Kole, that would show one and all that Gibson and all his fellow traverlers consider themselves more important than the position, a fact shown again and again by the street-gang mentality they show as far as supporting any sort of justice. They displayed it Monday night when they voted along party lines to prevent Gray from being investigated; as well as when Gibson was arrested and Gray was initially charged with ethics violations. They gathered, one and all in front of media to support these fools, when they should have told them to recuse themselves, if not resign. But hey, onec you got the ‘juice’, you’re damnded if you give it back. Too bad the juice is to benefit the citizens of the county as opposed to its Democrat councilors, but I believe that in November the people will fire them.
Long live our republic!

When Gibson ran a local association he failed to open mail for months, saying that it fell off the table and he didn’t bother to pick it up. His prayer is a BIG one, there are lots of people who are judging his bad behavior, God will be busy.
