<description>If anything, you are not hard enough on the Council and the Mayor, of course, I am a big fan of muckraking.

Monroe and the Mayor have quite the nerve talking about unfairness, when all they can ever propose is tax increases and/or borrowing money for operating expenses (which should be illegal). Only funds for capital improvements should be borrowed or bonded.

What is really "unfair" is that few in the media do any real investigating. There is so much more that could be reported. All of the media need to have "ace" reporters, with many research assistants, who dig into every aspect of city (state and township) government and report real stories and not just regurgitate press releases.

<description>Ballard is a problem for those of us who want to actually vote for someone who really understands that the whole government system needs to be changed and improved (and I don't mean privatization, which is generally just another form of corrupt government). Ballard has not been able to show that he is that guy. The Republicans ought to be ashamed of themselves. They refuse to find someone with integrity and ideas to promote for mayor. There are a lot of talented people available. But government is broken because the political parties are broken. Integrity and ideas are not the main priorities of either party's leadership.

So, we are left with dumb and dumber as a choice.

<description>Andy Horning has been talking about tax reform and smaller government in Indiana for probably a decade . . . too bad he isn't running (and also too bad no one ever supported him!)

		<description>arnie,

What is the use of just jumping up and down protesting how we're getting screwed by the bozo's running this city if you're not prepared to vote for a new administration?

Sorry, but most of us don't have the time for ineffectual griping. I'm not going to get pushed out of Indianapolis by an arrogant, out-of-control confiscatory city-council without putting up a real fight--- not just toothless "protest".

One other point, Mr Peterson has said that he is shocked, simply shocked at the current tax mess, due to uncontrolled spending.... Where's he been since he promised in 2003 to fix the tax mess at that time with his "oversight" commission? This committee of course never met according to Steve Campbell "because they just didn't want to".

Micky &#038; Minnie Mouse could do better.

The Keystone Kop antics of Mr Peterson et al have led me (and probably many others) to seriously look at an alternative.... and find that Mr Ballard would be an excellent alternative to the "leadership" that we have now.

Yous seem to be turning up your nose at the thought of voting for a Republican. Well, you can stand on the sidelines like a sheep, or you can roll up your sleeves like an adult and help, even if it means stretching your mind a bit and considering not voing your usual straight Democratic ticket.
