So Sue Me

I am hearing rumblings from a lot of citizens angry about this week’s increase in the county option income tax that they may file a suit to have the vote thrown out. The tax was raised to help pay for public safety. The advocates say when several members of the City-County Council voted for the tax they were violating Indiana’s conflict of interest law which says no public official can vote on a matter that they have a pecurinary interest.

Several Councilors are either police, firefighters or married to police or ex-firefighters. And since the tax increase was dedicated, in part, to paying for raises for police and firefighters as well pensions for retirees, the citizens say the Councilors should have all abstained from voting, like Republican Ike Randolph. When they find a lawyer willing to take the case, I’ll let you know

Angry Republicans seeking to hire one of those demon “trial lawyers”? Consorting with the devil? My goodness!

  2. Abdul

It’s amazing how high taxes can make for strange bedfellows!

  3. Melyssa

How is it that Abdul hears everything first? It’s an amazing thing.

Ms Ann, has Abdul ever contracted you for your “special” services?

Well, if I recall, Bart at FIRST said that the tax increase would be used to offset the property tax debacle. Then, when the Gov stepped in it quickly changed to paying for 100 new officers. What is it? Better yet, where’s a line by line copy of the BUDGET?

    Mr Wilson (aka “Anonymous 9:35am”

If you think that personal attacks on people trying to express their opinions will somehow convince us (formerly) independent voters to ignore the mess that your favorite party has made in Marion county, you are mistaken. In fact this sort of arrogant behavior has motivated me to donate $ to the Ballard/Webber campaign.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one to find your little jabs highly motivational.

Good! This type of behavior by the self-serving members of the City-County Council cannot be tolerated. Hopefully they don’t hire some political goof like Price to represent them or all is lost from the start.

Case law in Indiana on this issue is iffy at best.
What all of you do not understand is that the CCC simply votes for a tax increase. They said where the money would go to the media but the they DID NOT vote on that. They voted for a tax increase, nothing more, nothing less.
Lawsuit is grandstanding but voting these bastards out of office is not.
    DON’T BITCH! VOTE!

I sent some $$ over to Ballard myself this week. I like how he’s showing up everywhere and how hard I see him working.

I hear he’s getting some commercials. Wonder if wew can find out how much they cost? That way you know just how many spots our $$ gets us.

And Wilson, as I said the first time I was on Abdul’s show, I will never reveal who my clients were. Their secrets are safe with me. How could I be trusted if I cannot keep a secret? Trust is the whole point of dominance. Ever hear the phrase, “In God We Trust”? God is the ultimate dominant.

It’s a shame that you are dominated by untrustworthy thugs and a cartel that keeps its own people down.

Its sexual thrills of a freakish proportion.

I wonder what Abdul thinks of such quasi-prostitution…

    Two Wows here.

Wow. I thought this was a thread on consolidation.

Wow. Somebody extremely self-interested in Politics used the other “P” word to describe someone else. “Inconceivable!”, to quote one of my favorite characters as portrayed by Wallace Shawn in the Princess Bride.

  12. varangianguard

My bad. First Wow. was not for this thread. Tsk, tsk, tsk for me.

Second one still applies, IMO. :)

I just love to see the Dems all riled up! Attacking people personally instead of talking about the issue. 1. Bart tell your boys (and girls) to behave and 2. You know we are doing soemthing right! :)

Freakish like rogering some dude? Whatever Little Willie.

I would say that Monroe is definitely the type who would put the wine as far away from him as possible, as it reminds him of his own mortality.

A Democrat insulting someone else because of decisions they choose to make in their private life? Inconceivable!

It’s not private when it is illegal, isn’t that what all the gay-haters have said?

  17. Anonymous

My BEST friend is gay. I don’t care what she does in her bedroom. But I see you are just trying to change the subject from the corrupt democrat politicians in this town. Bart, you really have to tell your children to be more creative than this.

“I have a black friend! I have a black friend!”

    It’s like a Seinfeld episode in here…

Dominatrix, “not that there’s anything wrong with that…,” All we need now is a soup Nazi and we have a show about nothing.

Too bad the “show” here is really peoples lives!
