Wilson, why is it that it costs Center Township so much more in admin costs to provide poor relief as it does the other townships? I’m not being rhetorical, I really am curious what makes it different. I read a few years ago it cost roughly $3.50 to provide $1.00 of poor relief in the inner city, which was drastically higher than the other townships.

For the record, the State Board of Accounts, merely audits the amount of funds appropriated for a given period of time, and list the accounts payable for checks and balances. The audits do not investigate specific expenditures unless there is a request to do.

ANY Township property is not under the control of any City Council. Townships are separate and independent entities with separate budgets. Center Township Government is only 1.47% of Center’s total taxes. All government entities including townships are regularly audited by the State Board of Accounts. Those audits are public documents. I’m retired now from Center Township but in all my years there I never saw any Corvettes stashed in Township space. That’s a hoary urban myth unsubstantiated by anybody reputable…

Vern acted as though he didn’t know what was going on. I bet Vern Brown has been in that Vette of Drummer?s. Vern isn?t stupid, as long as the democrats (including Brown) allow Drummer to do as he pleases with city owned real estate how can Brown expect anyone to take him seriously?
As far as expanding leased space I say, NO MORE SPENDING.
Until our crime issue is resolved spend the money where it is needed. Its time for our city to tighten the belt.

OK Vermouth Vern, why don’t you just explain why “Corrupt” Carl Drummer, a township trustee, who is only supposed to provide poor relief has over 100 patronage employees and THREE GIANT buildings????

Why does anyone need 3 giant buildings to provide poor relief????

Answer: They are not needed, but political perks so he can ‘rent’ space.

When Carl is willing to turn his little media room with the stage into space for prosecutors, then I’ll feel some sympathy. That room alone has enough space for at least 6 prosecutors.

Not to mention the fleet, and i do mean FLEET, of vehicles that the Trustee has. They are also maintained by our garage and body shop. Speaking of, there is a nice 2007 Explorer Sport Trac with chrome package at the body shop as we speak. One guess as to who it belongs to…

When we do the efficiency audit of city government, we need to start with Carl Drummer and our real estate and car fleet holdings.

It is time to demand an audit. Talk to your council person. There is no reason why the citizens need to shoulder another tax increase.

[Photo]LEOs, Vernon Brown is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. He’s upset the Council didn’t approve giving government-subsidized rent to Center Township Trustee Carl Drummer so he plans to take it out on Carl Brizzi.

He’s going to block the rent of badly needed space for the Prosecutor because the proposal to rent space from Drummer for the Citizen’s complaint office went down in flame. He already made Paul Bateman take his name off the ordinance. And Bateman originally agreed to co-sponsor the ordinance.

If Vern wants to go after someone he should go after the WDs on the Council who already think Drummer’s has enough of the taxpayers money but they won’t say anything because they’re afraid of being called racist! How do you think Monroe Gray stays President?

Hey Wilson, perhaps Jacque is just a reader who enjoys the blog, but gets annoyed at your constant irrelevant comments. Look up ‘threadjack’ on Wikipedia. And really, if you have this much to say and this much free time, please, do all the readers of Indiana blogs a favor, and got your own blog. If people are interested in what you have to say, then it’ll be very successful. Just knock off the threadjacking. It’s terribly annoying.
