Political Musings
I’m working on another project today so I won’t be spending a lot of time on the blog. You are free to post your political and non-political thoughts and musings today. Just be civil. Oh, Marion County Clerk Beth has fixed the error on her website, so I have to give credit where it is due. Post away.

Cleaning up all the leftover elephant poop takes time. That erroneous webpage was another of Doris Ann’s screwups. New Clerk Beth White’s folk simply hadn’t gotten around to correcting that particular leftover problem from the previous administration…
June 15th, 2007 at 8:44 am
Between the website and the election (both of which you’ve blamed on people no longer in office), just what exactly has the esteemed Ms. White been doing all that time?
June 15th, 2007 at 8:53 am
Clerking!
June 15th, 2007 at 9:57 am
Ignore Wilson.
Just call her Beth “Incompetent” White – she said we could.
June 15th, 2007 at 10:08 am
It is good to see outside sources like blogs putting the heat on our elected officials. If the blog post about Beth and the web site had not been made how long would she have put off fixing it ?

Wow, if what Beth White was doing could be called “clerking”, how bad would the election day have been if she..um…wasn’t clerking.
Seriously, Wilson, name the last mistake made by Marion County government that you feel could be blamed on the Democrats? Put down Bart Peterson’s water and try to be intellectually honest for once.

Indy Airport’s New Ban List:
Tobacco because it’s not good for you.
Gum because its messy and rude.
Alcohol because it worked so well the first time.
Farts because they smell.
Rock music because it corrupts young children.
Junk food because it makes you fat.
Video games because it insights violence.
Photo’s because they steal your soul.
Sugar and candy because it gives you cavities.
Comb overs because they look ridiculus.
Televisions because it’s better to read.
Can you think of more????

The above commenter should use its own name instead of fraudulently using our Mayor’s name — but honesty isn’t a part of the GOP attack vocabulary!
June 15th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
It couldn’t be our Mayor Bart – he has a law degree — the above faker makes spelling errors that only an 8th grader would make. Can’t the GOP at least send trolls that can spell our American language correctly?
June 15th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Hey Wilson. Please answer a question for me. Is Monroe Gray a good representative for Indianapolis?
June 15th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
Wilson,
What words are misspelled?
June 15th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
“I ain’t got no nickel in that dime”
-Julia Carson
What is her excuse Wilson?
“Bart” I work at the airport and found that very funny! Unlike some people, Wilson, who are so out of touch with modern day life, laughing is good for the soul.
June 15th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
Hey Wilson, get back in the free cheese line. I hear they are giving away cheddar today. MMMMMMM cheddar.
June 15th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Apparently Beth “incompetent” White doesn’t have it quite right (From polispolitics.com)
“However, our calls to the Wayne Township offices confirmed that Jack Irwin is still indeed the District 7 representative. White still has Dallas Richards listed on her site.”

COLD HARD CASH
No surprise, Indianapolis Congresswoman Julia Carson is on the list congress receiving $ from William Jefferson. (The Louisiana Congressmen with the freezer full of cash.) Carson received $1,000 from Jefferson’s campaign committee in 1998 and another $1,000 from Jefferson’s Future PAC as recently as 2002.
No dumpster diving required here, it is true, and if Wilson denies it, MAYBE Julia just doesn’t tell (or remember) everything.
June 15th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
Wilson,
I believe the “Airport Ban List” came from Bart SIMPSON not Bart Peterson. Bart Simpson has a better sense of humor.
June 15th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
Yes, 5 & 7 years ago, our Congresslady Julia Carson was in million dollar campaigns against her. Many folk stepped up to the plate for her 5 & 7 years ago including Bill Jefferson 5 & 7 years ago. I’m sure her 2 losing opponents, 5 years ago for McVey and 7 years ago for Hofmeister also got tainted GOP money from convicted crooks like Bob Ney and Duke Cunningham. I cant speak for her but if those 2 losers would refund their tainted GOP cash from 5 & 7 years ago, she might entertain donating $2000 to Jefferson’s Legal Defense Fund. Just an idea …
June 15th, 2007 at 8:42 pm
That poor deluded soul still smelling cheddar from cheese lines might check it for mold. That was a Reagan-era socialistic giveaway and phased out about 20 years ago. That cheese must be awfully stinky if he still has some stashed away in his basement!

Abdul,
Why is Wilson the topic for discussion. He is a political nobody. Tax and spend Democrats with no accountability to taxpayers is the order of the day.

One cannot help but get the sense that John Edwards secretly approves of the “two America’s” situation, and that he is doing everything he can to keep the vast majority of us in the “haves not category.”
The fact that members of our political class are all too willing to put their assets offshore to avoid the taxes which they themselves keep on the books shows that they are becoming de facto absentee landlords. They obviously see the citizenry as their serfs. No one should forget that John Edwards’ fortune came from looting corporations with junk science lawsuits. The plaintiff bar has become the contemporary equivalent of those malefactors of great wealth, the robber barons of Mark Twain’s “Gilded Age.” The worst part–the media lets them get away with claiming that they are the champions of the poor.
With Mr. Edwards’ new-found acumen in running off-shore hedge funds and Mrs. Clinton’s notorious ability to parlay a small investment in cattle futures into a $100,000 gain in a short period of time, I see the outlines of a dream ticket emerging here. Imagine, with such expertise in the White House, surely they would use their talents to show the way out of poverty to all Americans.
Democrats who become wealthy learn a valuable lesson; wealth changes people. Wealth gives people independence. For the Democrat Party to succeed, the wealthier members within the party know that they cannot allow people to become wealthy. A constituency that is impoverished and dependent on the government is their strongest constituency. The Democrat Party has worked hard to keep certain classes of people poor and dependent and thereby have succeeded in creating voting blocs that reliably vote the Democrat ticket. The leaders of the Democrat Party enjoy their wealth. They enjoy the power they exercise by keeping others from becoming wealthy. For John Edwards, there are two Americas. So long as he can keep it that way, he, and the Democrat Party, will prosper. The Republicans never seem to figure this out.

Poor, poor Jacque! Someday he will learn how to use a computer, how to do cut-and-paste correctly and even not to keep on clicking buttons incessantly.
June 16th, 2007 at 5:15 am
My bad! The losing Hofmeister campaign against our Congresslady Julia Carson was 9 years ago, not 7 years — that makes the “tainted money” claims of those desperate GOP talking points even sillier…

Notice the timestamps on the last two comments of “Wilson46201″ — they are separated by about 2 hours. Some troublemaker trying to disrupt this thread was ‘spoofing’ at 6:01am — the haters and naysayers must be really hard up to resort to such trickery! It looks like this blog needs better moderation to keep it from totally degenerating into irrelevancy from all the fraudsters!

Wilson I have noticed you dominate most of this blog today. Do everyone a big favor. Why don’t you get your own site and then you can monitor who comments?
June 16th, 2007 at 9:37 am
Jocelyn and Darla have been saying such silly things for months now “Jacque”. By the way, “Jacque” seems to be quite a new pseudonym in here — I suspect it’s really just one of the same tired old haters and whiners hiding behind a new fake name. “Jacque” will soon disappear and she will than have a new moniker to use to attack folk with the same old complaints…
June 16th, 2007 at 9:55 am
Hey Wilson, perhaps Jacque is just a reader who enjoys the blog, but gets annoyed at your constant irrelevant comments. Look up ‘threadjack’ on Wikipedia. And really, if you have this much to say and this much free time, please, do all the readers of Indiana blogs a favor, and got your own blog. If people are interested in what you have to say, then it’ll be very successful. Just knock off the threadjacking. It’s terribly annoying.
June 16th, 2007 at 10:21 am
“regular reader” (another new pseudonym in here fresh today) : try reading what the posting by Abdul is about and then explain how the thread could be hijacked…

After the CCC meeting Monday a comment was made to Vern Brown about Drummer allowing his Corvette Club buddies free storage in the space.
Vern acted as though he didn’t know what was going on. I bet Vern Brown has been in that Vette of Drummer?s. Vern isn?t stupid, as long as the democrats (including Brown) allow Drummer to do as he pleases with city owned real estate how can Brown expect anyone to take him seriously?
As far as expanding leased space I say, NO MORE SPENDING.
Until our crime issue is resolved spend the money where it is needed. Its time for our city to tighten the belt.

OK Vermouth Vern, why don’t you just explain why “Corrupt” Carl Drummer, a township trustee, who is only supposed to provide poor relief has over 100 patronage employees and THREE GIANT buildings????
Why does anyone need 3 giant buildings to provide poor relief????
Answer: They are not needed, but political perks so he can ‘rent’ space.
This is Tammany Hall!

When Carl is willing to turn his little media room with the stage into space for prosecutors, then I’ll feel some sympathy. That room alone has enough space for at least 6 prosecutors.

Will the liberal, Democrat ass-kissing media take this bit of news and run with it? Hell no they won’t. Those limp-dick, worthless liberal jerks continue to ignor the corruption in this city. In the meantime, the citizens of Indy have to suffer under their corruption!

Not to mention the fleet, and i do mean FLEET, of vehicles that the Trustee has. They are also maintained by our garage and body shop. Speaking of, there is a nice 2007 Explorer Sport Trac with chrome package at the body shop as we speak. One guess as to who it belongs to…

When we do the efficiency audit of city government, we need to start with Carl Drummer and our real estate and car fleet holdings.
It is time to demand an audit. Talk to your council person. There is no reason why the citizens need to shoulder another tax increase.
9:06 AM
[Photo]LEOs, Vernon Brown is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. He’s upset the Council didn’t approve giving government-subsidized rent to Center Township Trustee Carl Drummer so he plans to take it out on Carl Brizzi.
He’s going to block the rent of badly needed space for the Prosecutor because the proposal to rent space from Drummer for the Citizen’s complaint office went down in flame. He already made Paul Bateman take his name off the ordinance. And Bateman originally agreed to co-sponsor the ordinance.
If Vern wants to go after someone he should go after the WDs on the Council who already think Drummer’s has enough of the taxpayers money but they won’t say anything because they’re afraid of being called racist! How do you think Monroe Gray stays President?

ANY Township property is not under the control of any City Council. Townships are separate and independent entities with separate budgets. Center Township Government is only 1.47% of Center’s total taxes. All government entities including townships are regularly audited by the State Board of Accounts. Those audits are public documents. I’m retired now from Center Township but in all my years there I never saw any Corvettes stashed in Township space. That’s a hoary urban myth unsubstantiated by anybody reputable…

Repeated, massive attack spam & libel by anonymous shady characters is a sad sign of the degeneration of this hitherto useful and informative blog.
June 17th, 2007 at 9:20 am
For the record, the State Board of Accounts, merely audits the amount of funds appropriated for a given period of time, and list the accounts payable for checks and balances. The audits do not investigate specific expenditures unless there is a request to do.
June 18th, 2007 at 9:05 am
Wilson, why is it that it costs Center Township so much more in admin costs to provide poor relief as it does the other townships? I’m not being rhetorical, I really am curious what makes it different. I read a few years ago it cost roughly $3.50 to provide $1.00 of poor relief in the inner city, which was drastically higher than the other townships.
June 19th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Jason
The answer to your question is political patronage and the cost to maintain too many buildings that have nothing to do with poor relief.
