		<description>How many studies do we need?! Frank doesn&#039;t have a plan on how to address crime so he will dilly-dally with this to make it look like he really is doing something.

On a side note, I saw the greatest bumper sticker today and want to know where to get one. It said &quot;Bart Lies!&quot;, I was smiling the whole time behind that F250 truck - where do I get mine?

		<description>Does anybody recall the problems at the coroners office? The reporting has faded, but apparently the problem remains.

Somewhat off topic, but the following was posted by a guest blogger at Indyundercover. I suspect he works in homicide - that&#039;s only a guess:

DON&#039;T LET ME DIE IN MARION COUNTY

Months ago, IndyU sent out the proverbial SOS to the community about the chaos in MCCO. They are probably thankful over on 521 that the noise died down for awhile. But have you had the good fortune to partake in the Coroner Experience lately? Late reports, no reports. It is now taking as long as 5-6 months to get an autopsy report. Late autopsies, no autopsies. Do you ever remember a time when you needed to call ahead to make sure your case was being investigated? And try calling over there for information on your case. Half the time, the main phone line goes to voicemail, at which point it says the mailbox is full. Another classic was when the outgoing message greeted callers with, “We are not in right now. Call again another time.” What?! It’s one thing for LEOs to get frustrated, but can you imagine what a family member feels like when they hear that?

And since they fired several competent investigators, how about the staff? Aren’t there times when the deputy shows up on your scene and you get that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach just seeing their face? With some of them it’s almost a guarantee that your case will be screwed up. Have you witnessed investigators throwing all your evidence together in a plastic bag? Can you say mistrial? It’s like the circus is in town and it’s time to send in the clowns. It would make for interesting reading to ask the investigators to walk you through their background and qualifications. Just don’t eat first, since you will get sick. Ackles continues to hire his cronies with no experience whatsoever. You gotta hand it to Marion County—there are plenty of favors to go around.

And boy, Joye Carter sure has worked out great. Does anyone know how many hours this woman actually works? Autopsies starting at 3:00 pm? What do they do all day? Sit around and get paid, it would appear. It’s depressing. They thought when the noise died down, we would forget. It is just getting started. The consequences of all these decisions are just beginning to become apparent. Thoughts?

		<description>You know, there was a criminology study done in Minneapolis in the 70&#039;s which demonstrated that police patrols had no bearing on crime rates.  Areas with enhanced patrols compared with areas that had no patrols showed no significant change at all. Studies can show anything.  It wouldn&#039;t surprise me if this thing ended up saying we were just fine with what we have.  Everybody knows we need more people.  You&#039;d have to be a few candles short of a birthday cake to think anything differently.  Or spend money on a study &#039;just to be extra, extra, extra sure.&#039;

		<description>A source who claims to be from the 25th floor says the mayor is praying the city holds together until after the election.
That&#039;s scary, if it is true. Something tells me it is.

I wish our Mayor had the kahunas and heart to put his arrogance and ego aside and think of the PEOPLE first for once.

		<description>Why don&#039;t we same a bunch of money and ask the patrol officers that work the streets if they need more help? I&#039;m sure they would have a reasonable answer.

		<description>And why wasn&#039;t a study done BEFORE the merger so they could have planned for the possibility of needing more officers ?

Also - if the mayor had the $85 million dollar plan that would be financed by the Indy Works proposal that needed to be passed at the state level - why did he not have a backup plan in case his PLAN A did not survive ?

		<description>Hmm they can pay me for a study.. lets see crime out of control... not enough officers to cover all shifts.. DUHH?! I think we need more officers.. this is just a way to kill time and delay doing any real work. I just hope somene doesnt get hurt or killed over this delay tactic.
