My Stop on the Way Home
I was teaching up in Carmel tonight and on the way back to my downtown apartment, I stopped by 300 East. I had a jack and diet and talked to the visiting chef who I knew. It was a real nice place and pleasant atmosphere. It was quiet so I’ll have to come back on a night when it’s busier.

Perhaps an Abdul event there?

Did you see anyone eating sit down meals or were they mostly drinking ? I wonder how hard it will be to get to the $200,000 in food sales mandated ?

Anon 859, those are not Wendy’s 99 cent menus they have there. I would be curious what the food sales are after one month to get a rough estimate for the year. Unless, of course, ’sales’, wink-wink are made and not produced or certain patrons are to make food contributions along with their beverage purchase.
The crooks, I mean the honorable people behind this bar, would never do anything dishonest? Right??

Can we assume the same scrutiny will be applied to Republican County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi’s speakeasy saloon downtown? It’s still kinda fishy why some businessmen would want to cut in a local law enforcement topdog on a sweetheart “investment deal” … maybe out of the goodness of their hearts? Uh-huh!

Brizzi’s place is not in a building that is supposedly owned by the tax payers of Indianapolis. Good try though.

Wilson - pick the date and time ( After work hours please ) and I will meet you at both places and we can compare notes.

300 East Restaurant is in rented-out space in a government-owned property (like city-owned Union Station rents to bars and state-owned IUPUI rents to TWO bars). Would the anonymous nobody prefer the empty space sit idle and unused and non-rent-paying? Not wise financially, but most of the fiercest critics dont live in the Township or dont pay taxes…

Did the owners pay the back rent? Non homeowners pay taxes if they are renters.

One of the noisiest critics of 300 East wont pay rent (and thus taxes) - she has quite a trail of unpaid judgments by stiffed landlords!

Good point anon 600 pm - notice Wilson won’t address the facts, but as usual, changes the subject. Pitiful.

I need to make my social plans for this weekend Wilson - wpost here when and where can we meet and review both places ?
Abdul - a group of us went on a Friday night - not much action going on - except for a VIP Allowed to smoke a cigar inside a no smoking establishment.
May 2nd, 2007 at 5:40 am
Is Carl Brizzi’s speakeasy even open yet?
May 2nd, 2007 at 8:49 am
Heck yes. It was open a few days after LEGAL construction was done.
Where as 300 east was mostly built BEFORE the paperwork got pushed through last summer and it still took them 6-7 weeks yo open ( late April ) after they got their liquor license in EARLY FEB and to hire the staff and open for buisness.
What were they doing between summer and Spring. Losing 10% or more of your potential business nd profit must not bother them too much?
