NFL vs. GOD

By now you’ve probably heard the story of some local churches who wanted to show the Super Bowl on Sunday and the NFL politely told them to go to hell. Since some of the churches would have charged money to recapture the costs of refreshments, the NFL said that would interfere with the millions and millions of dollars it would make through broadcast rights and other Super Bowl related activities.

Now granted, the Super Bowl is the NFL’s property. And people and corporations have a right to with their property what they want. However, I don’t see the inherent harm in letting a church host an event. There’s just something about pissing off people who have a direct line to God. That can’t be a good idea.

You know there’s rain in forecast for Miami. I hope it doesn’t last for 40 days. But then again there’s always a plague of locusts.

  1. The Wrath of God

The gods have it going on. The name of Super Bowl not in Jesus name. NFL games on Sunday and the beer barons reign. Football games vs worship service. Churches won’t be selling cups of beer to their members. Bars can charge for food and drinks, but churches can’t charge for pizza, snacks and punch. If you don’t drink alcohol you will not be invited to the party. Setting a good example for our youth today. Tornadoes have been spotted in Florida today.

It is all about the money. Can you say “twisted values?” Something is just a little screwed up in our society when people ask for the Super Bowl to be treated as a national holiday. The only people who really care about the game are the respective teams and the bookies. Can someone tell me if anything else has happened newsworthy here in Indy for the last two weeks?

    All worship the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!
