300 East

The Metropolitan Development Commission gave its thumbs up to 300 East. The board voted 6-3 to approve zoning variances for the famous “bar in the government building.” Board members gave their approval after the investors made a number of changes in the proposal, including opening hours, a ban on live entertainment and outside noise. The investors also agreed to submit a new design to separate the bar area from the restaurant. That will be tricky because the place is not that big, having been on the inside. What’s more interesting is that if the opponents of 300 East wanted to make some noise, they would abandon any fight over zoning and go straight to the issue of the actual lease between the investors and Center Township Trustee Carl Drummer. There are some major questions there that could be asked during a deposition after an injunction had been issued to stop the investors from taking possession of the property. By the way, the liquor license has not been approved yet.

Are you kidding Abdul? There isn’t a chance in hell the Marion Co. Alcoholic Beverage Board will turn down their application for a license transfer. The only way that place could have been stopped was through the zoning. It’s over–unless Carl Brizzi enforces the law and prosecutes the bastards for their ill-gotten gains from an illegal lease.

This is great news. Another win for center township.

The State controls all liquor licenses. We will see if this one passes. Club Mecca in Eagledale, closed. The Savoy Bar/Restaurant closed. Drugs, shootings, and crime seem to follow this group. We don’t care who the investors are. The building belongs to the tax payers of Center Township, not Carl Drummer or Julia Carson. 300 East will be closed if there is one incident of illegal drug dealing, fights or shootings reported in the parking lots or any after hour partying. The residents will not tolerate the drugs dealers again.
We will shut it down! Bank on it!

Who were the three racists that voted against the bar?

I’m not sure who the racists are, but you can bet that Amos will out them on his show today.

    Speaking of racists.

Since this bar is being built as a place where blacks can feel comfortable, I don’t expect to hear any more arguments against places designed for whites to feel comfortable.

Personally, I think that both ideologies are a form of recycled septic waste. But if our public officials are advocating one, I’ll be damned if I’m gonna sit idle if they reject the other.

If the hypocrites want to maintain even an ounce of respect they’re gonna have to eat their words. Otherwise, they should step down and make room for fair minded leadership to take their place. They’re not gonna have it both ways.

Once upon a time I worked for a black owned business as a marketing director. I wanted to take the job specifically because I want to live in a world that is tolerant and diverse. I felt by being a white minority in a black owned business, I could set an example.

What I encountered totally surprised me. I encountered reverse racism! I have never been treated so horribly as I was by the blacks who worked in that organization and who patronized it. The worst were the blacks that patronized the business. Once I was even accused of racism because I didn’t hold our product without a deposit and sold it to someone (white) who came along with money. The blacks felt I “owed” it to them to hold my product even though they wouldn’t give me a firm deal. Screw that. Any good business person follows the money, regardless of race.

This town has a LOT of growing up to do if we are going to truly be a progressive city. The blacks running council and other positions of leadership are a shameful disgrace to their race.

I hear the Demcorats will pick their replacement for Sen. Billie Breaux tonight at the Carson Center. It’s only fitting they return to the scene of the crime.
