Gibson’s Troubles Could Deepen
Sources tell me Indianapolis City-County Council Member Ron Gibson could face charges following a July 15 incident involving a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy. I’m told Gibson could be charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and intimidation. As first reported here, Gibson got into a heated exchange Black Expo weekend with the Deputy while trying to enter a downtown nightclub with two friends. Gibson is scheduled to appear on my morning show at 7:30 Thursday morning.

If he was going to be charged with public intoxication or disorderly conduct, why was he not charged on the spot?
Who was armed with a weapon, Gibson or the Sheriff’s Deputy? I ask because it’s not against the law to express yourself to an officer of the law, the constitution protects even unflattering language.
Did he threaten the officer’s life or the officer’s job?
I would be interested in the interview.

Interesting logic, credo…not sure if it’s true or not.
The bigger issue to me is (potential) DUI. By Mr. Gibson’s own admission, he had much to drink, and when the entire incident ended, he drove himself home.
Having said that, a D.O. charge after-the-fact is a little wierd. My guess is that both of them–the officer and Gibson–got mouthy.
Typically, in that scenario, it’s GameSetMatch to the police officer.
BTW: the 7 little words: “You Have The Right To Remain Silent.” Sometimes those are cogent words of advice pre- and post-arrest. I can’t imagine Gibson shutting up anywhere, anytime.

True, True, True.
